Well that's strange considering her latest album went platinum in Australia.

Sounds like Canada

We almost had a Canadian culture back in the 50's, then we got swamped by American TV and then hordes of Chinese, Indian, and West Indian immigrants. There is no real Canadian culture any more. Just a mishmash of American, European, Asian, etc. This country is just a reflection of a messed up world.

"Platinum" does not mean much here. It only needs to sell 70,000 albums in a country with a population of 21,000,000. English immigrants could take it to that.

And if the current Pope does not look like a poof I don't know who does.

By the way, didn't your country give the world Rock Hudson, Randolph Scott, Cole Porter, Liberace and James "The Human Ashtray" Dean?

And probably you...
OK, I knew Rock Hudson was queer and Librace was the most camp homo ever, but James Dean!!! - We are talking "Rebel without a cause" James Dean, or is there another.

One and the same. Story around Hollywood was that he was called "the human ashtray" because he let fairies stun out their cigarettes on his body. Sal Mineo, who was with Dean in Rebel Without a Cause was stabbed to death outside his home in 1976. Rumour was that he knew too much about high profile Hollywood gays.

Just as a sideline, if you saw the film you would remember that Dean's father in the movie was played by Jim Backus. Joke around the time was "If Mr Magoo was your father, wouldn't you rebel?"

Liberace once took our very own Jamie Redfern to the US as he was very impressed with his musical talent (or was it something else that of Jamie's that Liberace was attracted to? :o )

James Dean was apparently bi

Sal Mineo - I've never read this version of his stabbing death

Appears that Sal Mineo was involved in the gay S and M scene, which sailed him down the road to perdition.

Bob Crane. Murdered by his partner in crime.

Funny that Werner Klemperer (Klink), John Banner (Schultz) and Leon Askin (Buchhalter) were all Jewish refugees who served honourably in the American Army during the Second World War, while Crane (who played the hero) was a low piece of shit.
