Apparently, Cunningham was ahead on the cards, which is good to hear.

I was pretty sure Huck was going to win leading up, but I thought the German camp looked a little more concerned than usual in the lead up last night...and they were right to be it turned out.

I think they were check mated when it came to going for a title, as only alternatives were Enzo and Haye, which would be massive risks for their man. But USS showed he belongs at the very top.

Great win for Cunningham, i really thought Huck would win this one. Anyone know the scores on the judges cards at the time of the stoppage? Cunningham is a classy boxer, nice guy and one of the best conditioned fighters of any weight. I saw both if his fights with Wldcryzkrz...the Pole! And thought he won both narrowly. A real test for anyone, think he outboxes Macarinelli but Haye would be interesting.

As for Hernandez, great left hand landed on Azzaoui. Looks class form what i've seen.

From a post on the current scene:

Cunningham was ahead 108-101 and 106-103.

It took more time to add up the third judges scorecard as it had to be converted from braille. He had Huck ahead 105-104.

Will be interesting when Haye leaves the devision would be good to see Enzo in with a couple of those guys. Sounds like Cunningham does well away from home. Don't know why he hasn't got more of a following big boy with military back ground who holds a "world" title, should be much bigger.

Cunn has been very under promoted by Don King. Not a big puncher, and is in an unfashionable division. Barely been on TV, and his chance at a fight on Showtime was fvcked when Guillermo Jones pulled out of a rematch, sick.

Cunn's big win adds an extra subplot to Haye-Macca. I have been very pro-Haye on these boards. But if Mac wins, the likes of Cunningham will have to come to him. They're very fortunate that Haye is making cruiser again.

I'm glad that Cunn beat Huck. Rather have a road warrior than a home boy that will never defend vs anyone. I mena, I know Macca has gont every condition in his favour going into the Haye fight, but I doubt we ever would have seen Huck in anything as interesting.

You make a good point, the Cunningham win is better for everyone than a Huck win. Giving him a tough mandatory by Huck is good for competition but you just know as soon as Huck would have won then the IBF would have handed him a dire string of manadtories and that's the belt tied up. I mean there would be virtually zero chance of Huck entering into unifications with the likes of Haye and Macca, while Cunningham would travel over to unify as he has already proved.
