On front page of the Daily Mirror for having 57 pints in four days! No, seriously. He's the main national news for that!!

:o

He went bombastic in the second half of last year. This is insane.

I'm sure he could fight anyone at, say, Wembley, and sell it out. So he's right to box on. His goals have been money and fame and waiting for the right times etc. It doesn't matter that he's not been at his best since 2004, or looked near his best since the Tszyu fight.

You'll never beat a world-class fighter in their prime if you're a lager lout son.

Its his body so he can do what he likes with it. That does not change the fact that it is very unhealthy and foolish.

The fact that a professional athlete considers it appropriate in this day and age just makes me laugh really. It amuses me. He should be proud of himself

You are storing up trouble for yourself. Though I suppose its up to you.

Though by the time you have any health issues as a result of it, you will probably be deprived of NHS care, as they are seriously considering barring self inflicted cases.

My cousin is a surgeon and its the next thing to come in after the smoking ban. Within 5 years the NHS will not care for people who wilfully neglect their health

Nothing wrong with letting your hair down etc, especially after he has just financially secured himself for life (not that he wasn't before PBF but it's the icing on the cake surely) and over the festive period but that is some serious bender quantities there.

I always worry about those with a propensity to get totally legless every time they drink. I enjoy a drink as much as the next man and think I drink too much etc but that is just too much booze and a bit juvenille to be honest.

That is hilarious. I only looked at the first 30 seconds or so but the length some people will go to amazes me. It truly means so much to some people.

Sad to see a professional sportsman carrying on like this. You can argue that he's earned it in the wake of the Mayweather fight, but I'd have preferred him to respond to defeat by vowing to come back better than ever by cutting out crap like this. If he carries on this way he'll be finished at the top level quicker than we think.

I get the impression that the manner of the defeat has hit him a little hard, however others on this board that know Ricky would know better.

Yeh, I think you're right actually. I think someone else touched on this in another thread but there's to much pressure on the 'o' in the modern game.

There's nothing wrong with having a few beers over the xmas period. We all know he drinks between fights anyway but once his in training,Its a different ball game to him.Not many train as hard as him to get into shape as he does.
Plus if he carried on like the likes of Scott Harrison does when he drinks, then we have something to talk about.
IMO Leave the chap alone. What he has done for british boxing is a credit to himself.

The hero then settled in to seven pints of Guinness followed by four pints of rum and WKD.
I know he's a "common man", "one of the lads", etc, but PINTS of rum and WKD? You can add "chavvy" to the list of adjectives now!

It's not hilarious when later in the vid he says Hatton should be ashamed of himself for losing to a "n***a". I flagged it.

Didn't see that because it bored me to tears after 30 seconds. Pretty bad form though. Wouldn't be surprised if the muppet has a few aliases on this very forum.

Vowing to the Mirror that his fighting career was not over, he declared: "You'll see me again in the ring. Unfortunately I lost in Vegas but that's the end of it."

Then the multi-millionaire joked: "A few more drinks and I won't remember anyway!"

Well, is it any wonder that he didnt beat Floyd??.... the truth is Rickys training is geared to shedding the pounds rather than improving his technique and thats why he has declined since the Tsyzu bout.
I wont be at all surprised in 5 or 10 years time to read in the Mirror the story of 'Ricky Hattons battle with alcoholism'

So what does this mean, closing down detox wards - TLC and nothing more for smokers with lung cancer - No help for overweight people who have heart attacks - I suppose thats one way to relieve the hospital bed crisis and cut back on NHS expenditure - What a caring bastard government we have - Gas chambers for pensioners next.
