I think drinking til you cant stand, think or talk is plain juvenile - Having a few beers and a laugh with your mates is fine but testing your body to limit is another matter - You will pay for it sooner or later if you keep it up, trouble is so will your family who love and care about you.

I know he's a "common man", "one of the lads", etc, but PINTS of rum and WKD? You can add "chavvy" to the list of adjectives now!
I'd add Alche to it personally...
True, but he was always a "man" about his drinking - Guiness, Champagne and vodka is fine. But drinking WKD when you're a multi-millionaire?

You are storing up trouble for yourself. Though I suppose its up to you.

Though by the time you have any health issues as a result of it, you will probably be deprived of NHS care, as they are seriously considering barring self inflicted cases.

My cousin is a surgeon and its the next thing to come in after the smoking ban. Within 5 years the NHS will not care for people who wilfully neglect their health
So what does this mean, closing down detox wards - TLC and nothing more for smokers with lung cancer - No help for overweight people who have heart attacks - I suppose thats one way to relieve the hospital bed crisis and cut back on NHS expenditure - What a caring bastard government we have - Gas chambers for pensioners next.
Youve got it. Thats whats coming, more or less.

Heavy drinking is heavy drinking, whatever it is youre putting down your throat. Hattons drinking would be disturbing in anyone, but in a so called athlete it amounts to stupidity!... I dont understand why those around him dont reign him in a little, if not for his career then for his post boxing life and health. I've seen such levels of drinking in many people before and it never has a happy ending.... look at the state Gascoine is in now!....

Totaly agree 200% I am sickened by people on here and elsewhere bragging about how much they consume - The selfish sods never think about how this will affect their families/friends when they become alcoholics and becomming one is dead easy once drinking is a regular daily habit or heavy binge drinking every weekend.

Women need to unite and only go with non drinkers or blokes who drink moderately who have a good stiffy - That would teach the heavy drinkers - The w*nkers would literally have to become w*nkers.

Very true, peoples ignorance regarding alcohol is astonishing, I wonder whether they will still be boasting when they get liver disease in their 30s or discover they cant function normally without a drink.... unfortunately most only learn their lesson when its too late....

I'm not about to say Ricky shouldn't do this, shouldn't do that... Ricky is a grown man, so it's up to him how he treats his body.

However, I will say this: I do not believe we will ever the likes of Mayweather or Hopkins in the same state & whether I, & other Ricky Hatton fans like it ro not, that's one of the telling differences between fighters.

Who thinks if Ricky was to be more disciplined outside of training it would help him? I certainly think so!

I'm not having a go at Hatton, he deserves a rest, drnk, etc, but as a professional athlete, one has got to wonder?

I dont blame Ricky really, I blame the people around him for letting him do this to himself... his parents his trainer his manager his nutritionist (thats a laugh!!) these people are either too wrapped up in having a good time themselves or else to afraid to rock the boat to have the guts to tell the lad that he's ruining himself....

Seriously, why was my post deleted?

Topic name was Hatton, my link was about Hatton. I felt the need to share the pathetic video I found...

Should I have made a new topic?

Or is it the same mod who keeps deleting half the stuff I post on the brit forum?

Well that just about sums Hatton up.

This is all about building up his 'boy next door' image.. what a load of BS. Why would you count your booze over a four day bender.

Idiot. If it is true, then he deserves to have come up short at the top level. If it isn't, he is a gobshite for lying.

As for the NHS not treating smokers or drinkers... I can't see it.

Gordon Brown knows that smokers and drinkers are net CONTRIBUTORS to the tax coffers. There is a lot of tax on booze and tabs.

I thought that was a bit strange. It's not like the reports said "about 60" pints, which would be normal, but it was exactly 57, plus precise amounts of other drinks. I wouldn't have thought Hatton himself - or anyone who drank that much - could keep tabs on that. So who was doing it? And why?

Bear in mind there could also be a bit of exaggeration. He drinks 10 pints, tells someone it was 12, who tells the papers it was 15, etc.

I must say, having read the article I thought the same thing, who exactly gave those figures?

Unless it was a barman taking notes on what he was drinking, but then he could have had his own agenda.

I find it very strange that Ricky's drinking habits are headline making news.

So Hatton didn't really lose to Mayweather?

Thank God for that!

I love how I'm forced to pay via tax contributions (or N.I, I forget which) for a service that won't treat me in future because of how I live my life. When they start on with that that bollocks, will I then get the option of NOT paying for something which is useless to me?
