Boxing, unlike the other two sports you mentioned, football and cricket, is unique in that it is 'the hurt business'. ben 'catweazle' hudson, a friend of mine, had a phone call from the board about 6 months or so ago, it was about how they were watching him because of his seeming innability to win fights and perhaps not be trying in them. there was the potential for him to have his licence removed !!!

You are entitled to your opinion rhino - they are like arseholes, everyone has one - but it doesnt necessarily mean it is right.
As Kev pointed out Buckley has been called before the board re: his losing streak but his 'services' to the sport in saving shows and giving young green pros rounds outweigh the negative aspects (and I have sat through plenty of Buckley fights in my time).
Ask match makers and promoters the value of Buckley and his ilke and I am sure they will give you an insight into Buckley's worth that you might otherwise not appreciate.
My original point was that when you are routinely over matched in terms of size, youth, ambition and talent, is it really any wonder that Buckley has adopted a cross armed defensive shell that he only rarely explodes out of with countering left hooks?
Buckley wants to stay healthy, get paid and not end up walking on his heels when his career is over - can you blame him?
Now, unless you are willing to jump in the back of a van on a Friday afternoon and hot tail it to another city for 6 fast paced rounds facing a young pro keen to impress in front of his friends and family by trying to tear you a new arsehole, I suggest you give Buckely and his fellow boxing centurions a break.
