There are so many, some who had a few contests were hard men.

world champ wise Nigel Benn, Sonny Liston, Jack Dempsey, Doug DeWitt
Roberto Duran, Juan Roldan, Bazooka Limon. LaMotta.

Blimey there are loads Hard Rock Green, Knox Brown.

I though Steeds just boxed unlicensed - never heard of any bare knuckle fights of his.

Chris Eubank gotta be up there. So many hard power shots he took in the two Benn fights, Calzaghe fight, second Watson fight and first Thompson fight. The left hook he took in the second Benn fight in about round 10 I think it was, absolutely fornicating hu-mung-ous, you can see on the replay how the whole crowd gasped, and he didn't really budge

it kind of bounced off and through his massive jaw.

Hinckley’s Sam Gorman, Bartley's nephew, is making his pro comeback in Leicester on February 16. Although he has a patchy 4-3 (1) pro ledger, Gorman is a brilliant street fighter.

I've seen him land his uncle's famous 'bull-hammer' punch (delivered between the eyes) on DVD footage. Top bloke is Sam.

I've also seen DVDs of Billy and Ernie Smith battering fook out of some plastic hardmen round the back of the caravans in Stourport and Worcester.

dean harrison before he went to prison he was an animal but he sorted his self out when he was released just shows 10 fights 10 wins in 14mnths.

There are so many to mention. You can get plenty of bare knuckle fights on DVD if you look around. Jimmy Stockin's book gives a good insight into some of the top cobble fighters.

It would seem that Bartley Gorman was one of the most respected.

As for fighters who would have been accomplished on the cobbles, would go with what has already been said, Nigel Benn and Henry Wharton.
