Danny Green fancied a little earner first

Post by bennie »

Danny Green, who claims he couldn't go through with his fight with Markus Beyer in Germany on February 28 due to an injured hand, will defend his interim WBC super-middleweight crown in Perth on Sunday, March 21.
Promoter Justin Manolikas said he would name the opponent next week.
Green has postponed his mandatory rematch with Beyer - for the WBC title proper - until May or June.
Just fancied a little earner first I assume.

Incidentally, allegedly is now claiming on his website that he was willing to allow Calzaghe to challenge Beyer - but in April! How convenient. Calzaghe could easily have stepped in for the injured Green and challenged Beyer on February 28. He's training for a fight on February 21 in Cardiff.
