John Duddy Meets....
....Michi “The Mexican Sensation” Munoz (20-1, 13 KOs)
I thought Matt Vanda was the next opponent according to Brian Peters, never heard of Munoz but it appears he has a padded record and has beaten shit. Any thoughts?

Interesting. His only loss was to The Contender's Joey Gilbert.
I watched John Duddy for the first time yesterday, when he fought Prince Arron. Duddy didn't look amazing in that fight. Arron was able to land on him quite easily, and if the upper echelon Middleweights were given that opportunity they would take advantage of it, which Arron obviously wasn't able to do.
Was the Prince Arron fight a bad one for Duddy or is that how he is?

That's how he is to an extent but poor old Prince couldn't punch his way out of a paper bag so I think Duddy wasn't all that bothered about making him miss and just wanted to blast him out. After all he wasn't that bothered about making Eastman miss either although I do think he has improved somewhat with Don Turner. His defence is still bad but nothing like what it was when he fought Campas, it was truly shocking then.Asterix wrote:Interesting. His only loss was to The Contender's Joey Gilbert.

As for the opponent, with a shot at Pavlik pretty much in the bag for June was anyone seriously expecting him to fight anyone decent before then. I'm surprised they took the gamble of fighting Eastman although to be fair he came through ok.

like I've said before Irishmen "dont do" defense - its considered cheating.fatton wrote:That's how he is to an extent but poor old Prince couldn't punch his way out of a paper bag so I think Duddy wasn't all that bothered about making him miss and just wanted to blast him out. But seriously, I dont think Duddy was worried about Arron and just wanted to show the Irish audience that he could blast him
Duddy's defence worries everyone

to be fair Munoz should have won that fight. Gilbert was the promotor on that card and the "hometowner" - Munoz took the fight at eight days notice and it was at 6000 which Gilbert would be used to but there is no way that Munoz would.Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:A bloke who has a very wide decision loss to a bloke who was beaten by Manfredo? On paper, that doesn't look good.
