I have met Henry Akinwande on different occasion, during his training section in Rowe park Lagos Nigeria 2007, trained by the chief coach Femi, the chief coach of Lagos state Amateur Boxing Association.
Well he is a Britain by birth, but a Nigerian by origin, no matter what you think or say about him his is a champ and has taten Nigeria and Britain to her high level.
Thanks

I don't want to jump into the can of worms here, as previous discussions have highlighted that nationality is an ambiguous 'ol game, but given the EBU sees Henry as elligible for it's titles, and indeed Henry is willing to accept this (given he's fighting for the EU title next month) then in that sense he is British - at least he is in the world of boxing, and given we're talking about this in the context of a boxing site, then maybe he should stay as a UK nat unless something changes that.
I don't doubt Henry may well feel more Nigerian than British, to the point of renouncing it, but a 4 year old MEN article isn't brilliant evidence.
btw anyone know if he's still in the US or whether he's based permanently in Germany now?
