Emile Griffith won the Middleweight championship from Dick Tiger and lost it to Nino Bevenuti in an older version of Madison square garden and the lost it again to Benvenuti at The new Madison Square Garden

Well, if no one else has an answer, how about Freddie Steele? He won and lost his middleweight title in Seattle's Civic Stadium.

Barney Ross won Welter title from Jimmy McLarin at MSG 5/34, then lost it back to him at MSG 9/34. Then won it back at the Polo Grounds 5/35.

Tony Canzoneri also won lightweight title from Lou Ambers at MSG then lost it to him at MSG.

Daniel Zaragoza won the Vacant WBC Superbantamweight title with a TKO over Carlos Zarate at The Great Western Forum in Inglewood, lost it on the same ring against Paul Banke a couple of years later.

I think there have been three MSGs. The latest opened c. 1968. I think we need a New Yorker to give us the real details on that. "Spanner", eh? Is that anything like a monkey wrench?
