Actually Nate Campbell would be a good scalp. He has a china chin (see Peden fight) and I think that's a winnable fight for Amir.

I think Diaz has to fight Katsidis by March or he'll be stripped.

Even if Campbell wasn't facing Diaz there is no way they would let Khan near to him. The way he outboxed Diamond and Zegen shows he is a quality contender and no way Khan beats him as this juncture.

On a side note i doubt Thaxton would get the call as SN will use the old WBO eliminator as a smokescreen saying the British title would be a step down after being pencilled in for a "world" interim belt and all that crap. Plus didn't the purse bids already come and go anyway?

Always good to know that ones language can make other laugh :TU:

I wonder what you will do when you see a danish bus full of tourists - because a company that runs such a service is called "turistfart".

Does "fart" mean anything on its own in Danish?

Depending on its context. It can mean speed/rate/headway/service/navigation or trade.

According to Warrens column the offer is still on the table for Thaxton, £125000 - I think he should take the money!

Thought Thaxton wants it to be on a Hennessey show in partnership with Golden Palace or else go to purse bids (which Khan obviously was pulled out of).

From the words of Thaxton
"It's a disgrace, I'm british champ, he's commonwealth champ, I'm his mandatory, he's mine. It should happen. Kahn is overprotected. Why isn't he fighting a big puncher like myself. He started disrespecting me, but then he pulls out of the bids, it's disgusting. Sports networks offer was less than my promoter made Kahn, so we let it go to bids. My promoter was putting a big bid in and I would have been paid far more than their offer. I would really like to fight for the european title for which i am the mandatory challenger but never say never though. In three or four fights, me and Kahn could be even bigger.

From the words of Warren
"I offered Thaxton 100,000. This is a guy who said he would fight Kahn for free not long ago. Thaxton's not worth 100,000 and I've got a contract with Amir for ITV and that's the situation. Is he going to make 100,000 this year? I don't think so. The offer is still on the table.

It's not happening yet because of greed. And that's greed from both sides, not just one.

Thaxton certainly won't be fighting Khan on the 2nd- He needs more time to train. On British Boxing Net there was an article just before Christmas saying "Christmas Was Cancelled" as Thaxton prepared for a potential feb 2nd clash, but a follow up article basically said once Khan was confirmed fighting the Dane Thaxton started to " enjoy Christmas."

So yeah, he needs more time in advance, I'd say.

Yes it's in the Sun today, he's upped the offer by 25K.
This after saying Thaxton had missed the boat a few days ago. Sounds like he's had a change of mind - Jon better take this offer asap, and see if he can cash in his lottery ticket with a hail Mary left hook.

The offer is back on because the Martin Kristjansen fight is cancelled.

Isn't Thaxton a fitness fanatic though anyway?
