The big lads should be interesting too - Sexton v Morgan and Chisora v Butlin. Not sure if they'll be screened, mind.whicker wrote:Credit to them for at least finding someone at the last minute, but this has gone from being a competative British title fight to being a workout, surely.
The Small V Takaloo fight should be the highlight , then!

Torres is a toughman, but he was eating punches when i've seen him recently. Think Mitchell will get the stoppage, might be a compassionate stoppage by the ref, without Torres looking too hurt.
Paul Butlin sounds as if he is up for the Chisora fight, check out the article on BBN

Paul has been sparring with Sam Sexton ahead of their fights, by the way. Butlin said had it been a proper four-rounder then he would have won 40-36.
Paul is a nice guy who had a bit of bad luck in 2007 so i hope he can come through tomorrow with a win. He said he is feeling better than he ever has in his life.

Sad to see the 39 year old collapse like that. My heart was is in my mouth when the mismatch ended and he wobbled and dropped slowly to the canvas. Ian John-Lewis did well but i will never know why so many people crowd the grounded man...my wife is a nurse and always says step back and maximise the air supply.
Anyway, Mitchell was only being kept busy and the Johanneson fight is the logical next step, let's hope it gets remade.

Mitchell looked good and if you factor in the fact that his opponenet was over matched it was still a sharp and precise display from him. On that showing I think he would have mugged Johnannson of recent times.
As for Vinny he came down to the best entrance music of the night but you could see how a relative non puncher stopped him in tha ams.
He showed heart to recover from the knockdown and press forward to get the win but alot of his punches looked pushed/had little on them.
He was a bit dirty with the head as well, boring in and was lucky not to get a sterner telling or a point away.
Only his 3rd fight but he has quite a bit of work to do before he gets near his brother's level.
There is still one more Mitchell brother lurking in the ams ins't there?

Wasn't sure whether Torres was so badly shot, old, blubbery not to mention too small and was reacting badly to shots. Or whether Torres put on the theatrics having had enough of te fight & his career.
Looking at Mitchell, the kid looks sharp and he looked ready to fight someone like Johanesson. Liked his movement, liked his razor sharp, fast left jabs and hooks. It was impressive work on a poor opponent. Starting to think Kevin might have too much for Carl.
Used to think Mitchell was just a good body puncher with some speed, who loses the plot when he gets tagged. He took a couple of right hands from Torres which was a concern. But Mitchell did a nice move - Torres hit him with a right and Mitchell countered him with a better left hook. Also, Mitchell dealt with the head movement pretty well.
IMO in 12 months Mitchell has the beating of Arthur. The Johanesson pullut was a shame. We all get upset when Khan snubs the best of Britain. But Mitchell gets a fight with the British champ and it evaporates. Hope it gets rescheduled.
