can anyone do a round per round
as the title says. Would be good if someone can help out on the tak v small fight
Briefly - First round to Tak... Outworked Small and looked good.
Second - to Small..... Outworked Tak.
Third - Big for Small - Floors Tak and is generally in control and now hurting him everytime he lands well.
Fourth - Pretty much as the third, not as big - but again Tak down and looking gone.
Tak still in there in the 5th round, but not looking good for him.

Round 7 - Tak doing well, outworking Small - surely to little to late though.
Small catches Tak with a peach of a right hand with 30 seconds to go. Tak goes down.
Tak tries to hang on - but fight is stopped 2:56 of the round... good stoppage IMO.
End of the road for Tak.... Good performance and display by Small.

Good win in what could have been a tough comeback fight for Small - not your usual type of match up a young fighter gets after losing his unbeaten record.
Obviously Tak is not the fighter he once was, he looked much older than I expected when being interviewed before the fight. Be good to see him start training fiighters now, if he's up for it, maybe alongside Jim McD for awhile.

well this Mitchell fight is a thoroughly topsy-turvy up and down unpredictable affair....................NOT...............
i knew this would happen...................thank Fck for Anthony Small and Takaloo.
get another fight in for good measure then jump back in with Pryce. If he can win then with his superior skills and footwork then he obviously doesn't work hard enough on stamina and concentration.
get Pryce's Commonwealth on the line..........thing is I'm not sure Pryce would fancy the risk........was getting his head boxed off the first time by all accounts. Unless of course there was a few grand up for grabs which might make it more appealing.

it's over then is it????????BAMBI wrote:kevin mitchell fight was a joke..
not challenging at all!
if so it went on for about 5 unnecessary minutes.......I got both my predictions spot on then,
Small between 7 and 8 and Mitchell's a no contest.
why the hell do they bother?.......why get prime time tele and put on a sh*t advert for boxing........this is no fault of Kev Mitchell's by the way.
They should just bury him in the bill somewhere to keep him ticking over. Tak and Small always had enough grit about it to carry itself off as a main event.
Surely it can't be any worse than what we've just seen.

The fact that fight happened at all was a disgrace. Torres had lost his last 7 and he's put in with an undefeated, hungry, powerful top ten fighter?
And before this they were going to put him in with a 3-fight novice one of which he's lost!
The BBBoC should be ashamed of themselves. Thank goodness Torres seems to be OK because that was painful to watch.
I realise the fans need to be given something but if there are no fighters available of sufficient standard then the fight should not go ahead

What is Torres' natural weight.
MW - Before the show, Bunce said the Torres vs Mitchell fight was a worthy 10 round international fight!. So add that one to your list.
Was he being serious with the Holyfield vs Tyson III line. I thought its surely a piss take - but he kept saying "I'm being serious its happening" too many times.
Oh yeah, and also - what was he saying about Matt Skelton being a smart fighter - smart enough to win.

trouble is the TV are pitching to the masses if I can get away with saying that about a boxing show put out on a pay channel.
my point is, even if there was Small-Tak, and say, a couple more fights of equal interest to many boxing fans.........the dumb feckers would STILL just want the main "name fighter" boxing with any old beggar......literally anyone !!!! (no dis to Torres, he has no blame whatsoever in this debacle).
Checked on Current Scene and it's not Bunce speaking shit. Apparently it's gonna happen. How Promoters can justify it is beyond me.stujones wrote:

Exactly the way I saw it MW. Torres obviously got paid premium to keep the show alive, but showed no interest at all from the first bell. The theatrics at the end was pure soap opera.
Maybe Torres, being around Eastenders for the first time, got wiff of the Mitchell brothers' reputation. 8)
Not sure you can criticise too much to be honest. Torres was plucked out at the very last minute to save the bill and I suppose that has a certain ominous inevitability about right there.

I disagreed with Bunce (not for the first time) - I think had Tak had his legs and punch resistance of old he would have beaten Small. Definately had the hand speed to catch Small. Fight was essentially over when Small put him down in the 3rd.Old bones Ian wrote:thanks for the reports lads. Looks as if my predictions have not improved in 2008. I picked tak to win.

I agree. Seems Tak ages 30 years in 12 months....
