Mel, I must admit, I don't even know how you guys break out parts of a post and then reply to them. So that is why it looked like I jumped from one topic to another midstream, That and the fact that I am tripolar, a condition that they noticed at my briss.
Apology accepted. 8) BTW - I will be at the Championships in March. Hope we can all get together.....

Edwin Rodriguez is scheduled to box on January 26th. Mark Deluca, another former amateur from the New England area is also boxing and trying to make it 4-0. Another NE boxer, Richard Gingras, is trying to make it 8-0. He had who won the Ringside tourney at 201# in 2006.

I've heard Domonique Dolton is turning pro in March. He didn't box in the State tournament this year.

Edwin should do well, He is tough kid that should be able to move up over time. I would expect him to fight middle or super middle. Glad he stayed with it. I think it was a big blow to him not making the trials, but as time goes on that will be irrelivent.

Yes, Domonique personally told me that he was turning pro so I believe it to be true. He is young and I would have tried to get him to stay amateur for another year, but I'm not his coach. I wish him well.

Yes, Edwin should do well. I imagine him having some tough but exciting bouts sort of like Omar Sheika. I hope Edwin has a little more success if he fights for the title since Omar is like 0-7 in Championship bouts.

Congats to Kieth, Robert and Belontes, I don't know Belmontes but Kieth will make some exiting bouts and Robert should be nicked named the Baby Faced Assassin. Talk about a kid that you better not gage by his shy kidish smile.

Yathomas Riley going pro is good. He didn't have an amateur style so he would always have problems winning the big amateur bouts. In the pros, his power will be more of an advantage.

Diego Magdaleno is pro. His first bout was in December and his second was last night. He is now 2-0.

Heard Mike Wilson will be going pro shortly after finishing up his duties as the Olympic Alternative. Not sure what promoter.

Friday, March 7th in Foxwoods in CT:

Qa’id Muhammad makes his debut against Mario Gaxiola.

Hopefully if we get a couple of early stoppages, espn2 can pick up the bout.

Qa'id is so young. It is a shame that he doesn't stay amateur for a little longer. He will have a nice pro style though and should entertain the crowds.
