Breaking news: Thysse not Magee gets the shot

Post by bennie »

German promoter Wilfred Sauerland has announced that South Africa's Andre Thysse, not Brian Magee, will challenge Markus Beyer for the WBC super-middleweight title in Dresden, Germany on February 28.
Magee stopped Thysse in 10 one-sided rounds last year.

no chance, I'm afraid - I'm still hopeful that the old Beyer will comeback, the one who beat Woodhall will give any supermiddle (including Calzaghe) problems. Unfortunately, I think getting KO'ed by Cateley (who should have been in the running for this shot) made him gun shy.

He lost to Lucas, and was getting beat up by Green.

I suppose he deserves an easy defence, cause I don't think he'll be champion for long.
