Lets look forward to Newcastle storming away with the league at Christmas, Keegan brings in a superstar South American on mammoth money, dressing room unrest follows and a 12 point lead is overturned. Many rants and tantrums on TV and the great TV sight of grown men crying in their seats when Newcastle come back from 3 nil down to draw 3-3 only to let a soft goal in to lose 4-3 and end their title dreams for another year!

Keegan is a LEGEND though, and it's good to see him back, even if I think it will end in tears.

This will all end in tears again. It's an appointment made to please the fans, just as the decision to sack Allardyce was. Mike Ashley should stop sitting in the stands with his replica shirt on, and instead try and run the club like he would his other business's.

Still, should be entertaining while it lasts. When's the next Newcastle - Spurs game? 6-6 sounds about right for that one.

I like Keegan but you have to wonder if he's up to the job now, he looked burnt out at Man City. If Keegan had Shearer as his number 2 with a view to Alan taking over in the future it would make more sense, the fans are so stuck on Shearer that no other manager is going to get a fair shot at the job till the mighty one has been given a go...
I'm afraid this will all end in tears and by the end of the year the fans will be calling for Ashelys head!.... you have been warned mate!...

Its all logical what you're saying but football is never logical. Big Sam went to Newcastle and to be fair he did spend some cash, a luxury he's never had before and it didn't work out, now he's out of a job. What other clubs are going to offer him work - bearing in mind he'd been overlooked for many of the top 8 tops time and time again.

Take Southampton, Burley wants the Scotland job, if he goes brilliant, if not I think he'll be sacked, money aside we are too inconsistent, attendance is dropping, the players are getting played out of position, he strengthens our stongest areas. Whilst the weakest get weaker!

We may not have much money, but neither did Bolton when he first took over, they were technically insolvent but he worked wonders there and he may want that challenge again now that his fingers have been burnt at Newcastle.

Newcastle need a lot more than Keegan. They need a complete overhaul of their playing staff. Will Keegan get the time to do that?

Keegans problem is there are now some top quality managers in the league, and most are flush with cash to spend.

No way will Keegan outwit Ferguson, Wenger, Benitez, O'Neill, Ramos, Moyes, Redknapp and Sven on a regular basis.
That doesn't even include Grant, who has more money than anyone else in the division.

Motivating might be what they need though. A bit like Jol at Spurs, motivating can get you up to the top 6 but then to crack that top 4 you need to be a bit shrewder these days.

But I think Newcastle would be more than happy right now to be worrying about cracking the top 4.

Ultimately, Keegan has been a success at most clubs he has been at. Fulham, Man City and Newcastle all gained under him.

I think he'll make the premiership fun - he's been missed in football.

Maybe Big Sam might be England Manager pretty soon anyway.
