Khan 'stand in' named

I am giving khan only a 60% chance of winning. This guys seems quite experienced, has never been stopped and has mixed it with some good guys. How much would a loss hurt khan here....

It would hurt him big time my friend.... which is why it's very unlikely to happen. Bigger young prodigy against a smaller brief ex-titlist - exactly the type of smart matchmaking that has the appearance of substance whilst leaving a few questions unanswered.

St Clair has been a tasty boxer in his time and 5-7 years ago would off put Khan away no problem . now he is excatly what they want a light puncher losing his speed , losing his desire and after has much money has he can get in the last days of his carreer, don't expect anything other than what he's being brought for

There are issues, most obviously is Khan starts to tire, St Clair should be able to pick up many of the later rounds. Although all in all Khan should get through this quite easily. The other worry might be if it is a rather boring contest, but Khan is more likely to go for a knockout, so that should make it more interesting.

Are any bookmakers offering odds yet?

Should be an intresting Boxing Match for me,

Although Amir Khan has impressed so far, he lacks the experience in the "going all the way" department.

Amir Khan usually relies on putting his opponents away early, which will not be easy against someone who has not been stopped.

I dont understand this odds bollocks (A quid gets me 25p + quid back?) secondly I do not gamble my hard earned cash even on very sure things..dont even have a flutter on roulette and I trained as a croupier during my student days

Kahn will come out of the traps all guns blazing like against Earl and i think St Claire will be suprised by Kahn. I reckon it will be over within 3 rounds. Yeah St Claire aint been stopped but i think we all agree that Warren will only put Kahn in with people he can beat, Warren knows he's on the slide and he proberbly more intrested in the cheque....

I reckon if St. Clair pulls of the "W" then he is right back in line for a title shot so he has something to aspire to other than a cheque.

I think FW was genuinly supprised by how little Earl stood up to Khan and is thus trying to give him an opponent who'll last over 6 at least in St Clair.

I think the fight that St Clair was prepairing for was an 8 rounder so he's likly to tier aswell.

I aggree with Terry about the umpa lumpa thing but having said that I think that ITV will be able to hype it up enough to make it seem more sensible, the hight difference is no more pronounced than vs Earl and this is a former world champion.

according to the BOXREC records Earl is an inch taller than St Clair however somewhere in this thread someone said that St Clair is really 5 ft 6

the height difference will not be too much to cause a big disadvantage for Gairy, a 5'6 v 5'10 is nothing compared to alot of others...

Looking at Gairy, he seems to be Quite Well Equipped and looks quite Solid,

I think a lot of us here are under looking the fact that he was IBF champ at one point, showing he has got what it takes.

I think many could be in for a surprise on Feb 2.

He was IBF champ at 130 and was not so long ago lined up to fight Harrison for his belt at 126. I think he'll struggle at 135.

St. Clair is a superfeather weight, but he has fought at lightweight quite a few times in his career. I saw his fight against Corrales and he did a pretty good job. He is a fairly skilled fighter. I think the reason people want to rush Khan is because he is trying to rush himself. He has stated on numerous occasions that he wishes to beat Naseem Hamed's record of becoming the youngest British World Champion ever. Well I hate to tell him, it won't happen. Anyways, for this fight I think Khan will win. St. Clair is too old and too small to beat Khan, Khan will probably win a UD or perhaps stop him late. If Khan really wants to win a world title, he should move up to 140 after this fight and challenge Paul Malignaggi for a world title. I honestly feel like that fight could and should happen.

Well I think it would possibly be bad for him if he finds and beats a soft world champion what ever the weight may be bad for him. If he fights Thaxton Romanov and St. Clair he will have good learning fights and be a more rounded fighter. However as a champion he will ether have to take on the best or be in a position when us fans will give him massive amounts of shit.
