Corrales towered him but it looks like this guy is very durable and a runner.

So hopefully he should give Khan some problems and rounds!!

I hope I'm not wrong, but I don't think Khan will be tested too hard in this one. Although I think Khan will pace himself. No KO in the first 3 rounds, imo.

nice one terminator I'll watch all of that tomorrow. Tell you what that Corrales was one durable guy...........I would hate to mix it at that level at that weight. Small enough to batter each other for 12 rounds but not strong enough to put each other away.

I watched about a minute of that and I think Khan will be too fast and powerful for him although it's a good fight and a good step up on paper.

Khan does not hit as hard as `Chico`did.
So it looks highly unlikely he will blow St.Clair away.

The main worry for the Khan camp will be the St.Clair looping right hand ... St.Clair ain`t no KO-specialist - though neither was Limond  but Khan is not the warrior Chico was - so will not give him so much chance to throw it, but with Khans fine-china-like-chin it`ll only take the one punch!

He is in a no win situation in my opinion..
His followers obviously know very little of the game and the general public will know probably only a little more .. and even they will see the guy is atleast 2weight divisions below him..

If he wins by stoppage or points? ... so what he was fighting a midget they never heard of anyway .. he was a former worlds champ? ... well Derry mathews is a `current worlds champ` and I bet the majority never heard of him either  .. what does it prove

If he loses ... he lost to a midget they never heard of... and that proves alot

That's the thing Tony: there's clearly something we don't know about behind closed doors.

On ITV, Khan wins. In a town hall, I'd bet big on St. Clair if he's in shape.

so Khan's FOLLOWERS know a bit less about boxing than the GENERAL public???

also I do believe I read this morning St Clair is a former IBF World Champ.....as far as I'm aware mate that's one of the principal governing bodies of the sport.......Derry Matthews isn't a world champ for any of the main sanctioning bodies and I doubt any of these clueless Khan followers have heard of Derry Matthews anyway if they're as clueless as you say so your point doesn't make sense.

(ps which isn't to say Derry Matthews might not one day be a "proper " world champ - I've no idea but he belted the fck out of Foster who decked AAA who's a WBO interim whatever and apparently in the frame for Guzman.......)

also how do you know Khan's not a warrior like Corrales??? he got dumped on his bum as an amateur and got up and won and dumped on his bum as a pro and got up and won by stoppage in the next round. In fact come to think of it who the fck IS a warrior like Corrales mate.........the kid's had like 12 fights or something........is he supposed to be a warrior like Corrales already????????

Don't get me wrong I have no bias towrds Amir Khan whatsoever other than he's a countryman of mine who's at the forfront of the sport in our country and he comes across like a decent guy (who can drive like a prick) so I want him to do well.

It's just I came on here and said he'd whup Graham Earl and that 9 or 10 people on this forum were gonna look a bit stupid and I'm coming on here saying I think he'll beat this guy too........

so what you're saying is that because he's been selected for TV (it's Warren is it not with Khan??) then he's shot , and no risk to Khan?

I guess there's plenty of history which would support what you're saying.

But at the end of the day he's still a vastly experienced challenger who's held the world title so it's no rollover for Khan and if he wins his achievements shouldn't be belittled so quickly.

At the end of the day we just don't know what sort of challenge this guy will bring and a few more supposed boxing fans should be getting behind this kid.

Wow. When I saw he went the distance with Corrales I assumed that he must of went on the defensive but he is going toe to toe with him in those clips which makes it more impressive.

But you admit to only reading this morning he was a former IBF champ .. which to me suggests you are the type of Khan supporter I mean :D

The point of mentioning Derry was to highlight the type of `boxing fan` you undoubtly are .. I don`t need to say any more

You - bias towards Khan?...never
At the forefront of the sport? in Britain maybe .. on the world scene
He`s a real decent guy no doubt .. never bad mouths anyone .. nothing but respect for anybody .. and drive like a prick? .. never .. its everybody else .. jumping infront of him and reversing at speed that makes his driving look bad

do I sound like I have some kind of a gripe with you?.......if so mate, I don't, I didn't intend to come across as tough I did.

i'm not like some kind of Bolton FC shirt wearing Khan fly by night, I'm a keen follower of both the amateur and professional codes.

I don't need to come on here and justify to you what kind of boxing fan I am and tick all your boxes, and nor do I intend to in all honesty mate, suffice to say I've probably forgotten more about boxing than you know.

I'm just reading your message again and it's undoubtedly this and undoubtedly that and "my type" this that and the other.......frankly it's bollocks tony.

I would turn it back around on you actually and suggest you're probably a Khan hating - don't like to see that guy doing well - "type" probably cos you're jealous or a bit ignorant.

I've never said he's Sugar Ray Leonard mate....and I'm not a allegedly fan either I'm just saying get behind the lad as he's not half bad.......what;s so bad about that.

I'll scroll through the posts and pound to a penny you're one of them I was on about 4 weeks ago saying Earl would spark Khan. Is that right tone?

oh what a surprise - you "were impressed with that result" (you obviously thought Earl would knack him)

but you reckon "he's proved nothing til he beats Thaxton"

and in any case it'll be fck all cos Diaz will whup him.

Just in case he beats Thaxton (safe bet)......and heaven forbid Diaz, who I've never seen, do you wanna say now who he'll need to beat to "impress you" or do your "type" just talk nonsense on a "fight by fight basis".

thing is mate anyone who cares to can go as far back as they like and see what crap predictions you make.

he's not a runner. he gave Corrales a decent fight, actually stung Chico a couple of times despite being outgunned.

At his best, St. Clair is very good. Much better than Graham Earl has ever been. Without seeing Kristiansen, I'd imagine St. Clair is much better than him, too, given the class he's mixed in.

This is a really solid opponent and St. Clair has the kind of slickness/cageyness than could make Khan look a bit silly at times. Will be a top-notch result if Khan stops him.

Surely I`d have not been impressed by the result if I was a die-hard `knocker`?
I never wrote Earl would beat him..or `knack him`?
Just never expected Earl to be got at by him so fast ... though much has been said of Graham since :-? ... but I was impressed by the result.
NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:but you reckon "he's proved nothing til he beats Thaxton").
Thaxton is a `live` opponent ..

If he does to Thaxton what he did to Earl .. that would impress me like the Earl result did .. forgot about that one did you?
And somebody who knows so much about boxing never took time to watch Diaz  .. but if he does beat Diaz ... impressed again

How far did you go back then?
Some of my predictions have been `remarkable` ... Napa to stop Haskins .. who`d have thought that?
I thought kessler would stop Joe :-? ... but I guess 50% of the boxing community thought the same also ... but I`d bet you would have Khan beating them both eh? :TU:

Mate i hate to break it to you but he'll never in a million years beat Juan Diaz. Diaz is a beast he'd splatter Khan all over the ring. He's light years ahead of Earl and Thaxton and all the UK journeymen masquerading as contenders.

Juan Diaz will be beatable when someone special comes along. As good as Juan is, he has to hit you a million times per round. It breaks people's hearts, that style, but Julio Diaz was nothing special and Freitas' heart wasn't in boxing. Once Juan's peak goes, with his style, he will be a sitting duck. The kid has to put everything into every shot just to make an impact and when he has to start pacing himself I'm not sure he'll be able to function effectively.

There are lots of good fighters coming up at 135. Khan, Murray, Romanov, Fewkes, the Peterson bros, Katsidis. Diaz is very good but I still have reservations about him. Can't fault the way he's done things, winning a title early, then when ready going for unificatins. But he was perhaps lucky to wait until after the best of Corrales-Castillo-Casamayor.

Also, in his early days, people were very hard on Diaz. He started crying after he got dropped in a fight and when he first won a title no one though he was going to be anything special.

St Clair can be quite crafty. Crouch fighter, knows how to bob & weave etc. He had a superb fight with Jackson Asiku, winning controversially/closely. I think he's looked a bit stale of recent, especially in those fights in South Africa. Khan might look a bit too big, too fresh and too vital.

I watched that and thought St.Clair looked good, nice lead uppercut to the bigger man, got inside range and landed some nice hooks and short shots.

Nice little fight, but of course St/Clair is long way removed from that Corrales fight.

Such a shame Diego has gone, Hatton v Corrales could have been such a good fight.

Khan is bigger physically than Corrales was and I'd bet he is faster and hits harder too.

As tough as he was, and he was bloody tough, Corrales would have been no match for Hatton, who would have cut in down.

Khan will wipe out St Clair inside 6.

St Clair was training to fight someone on the day before the Khan fight(it was on boxrec but they now removed it)

So Khan doesn't have the upperhand in preparation!!

I can see a Khan KO as well. Too fast, too mobile, hits too hard and has the finishing skills. St Clair will give him stuff to think about, but he will be badly out of sorts. This could look like Naz v Steve Robinson. One guy stranded in the middle of the ring getting dazzled.

St Clair in good shape should make Khan look pretty clueless & one dimensional.

Hes not gonna offer no resistance like Khans last 2 lambs.

Wonder if trusty old Terry O'Connor will ref this, ensure the "TKO" victory regardless if its meritted.
