CAN HUGHES REPEAT WIN OVER PICKERING?

True. Pickering is a bad KO waiting to happen if he carries on, his punch resistance and reflexes looked very questionable last night.

esham is nearing the end of the road, deep down in his soul he must know that, but lets give him a bit of credit, he showed the balls of a lion in there last night, both fighters did !!

Pickering's chance at the big time came and went and for all his natural abilities I think he just has to acknowledge that. It's not as though it were a bad career.
Unfortunately the world title shot he did get came a bit early on. He was pencilled in to box for the IBF about a year ago but I believe his oppo pulled out sick.

Credit to both boxers last night though who both put in a really gutsy effort.

I thought the stoppage was well timed for all the reasons given by Watt and Nelson.

I went to this- a very very good show indeed. The main event was outstanding- great effort from Hughes, and he brought a massive ammount of support with him.

Undercard was decent, better than it looks "on paper" the only exception being MacKinnop , a bit of a let down really, considering he was a fly-in.

Good venue, amazing atmosphere too- one of the best shows I've been to.

mackillop was a let down, but his record suggested he had quite a dig in his arsenal, so he was always dangerous but was not allowed to swing with intent while in range.
