I've got no complaints for £9.99 a month.

Why would you want to cancel it with Haye v Enzo coming up?

I agree. SKY have one of the worst customer services around, and I've had no problems with Setanta.

Sounds a lot like a British Gas story - My Mother in law went into a home for the elderly - I rang up and cancelled her gas supply - Months later they rang up saying unless the bill was paid they would take her to court - I told them the bill was settled when I cancelled her account - They said there were standing charges going back nine months - I refused to pay and gave them the date I cancelled her gas - Believe this or believe it not I received threatening calls every day for over a week including Sunday - In the end I asked if the call was being recorded and they said it was - I then asked for details of their solicitors and told them I required this information so that I could give these details to my solicitor - I demanded that the tape be passed to their bosses and said the only call I wanted from them was to tell me who their solicitors were, or they could write if they preferred - I never heard a bloody thing from them again - By the way I cancelled my own gas and electricity account the following day - You have to get tough sometimes - I get Setanta through Virgin.

My setanta goes off during the day on and off. I get no sat signal being received. rang sky but they want 65 quid to look and fix it. i think it a sat position problem. Might find a local person for a lot cheaper.

i doubt the that setanta deliberately choreographed a bomb scare into the show Harry. G*d you're a harsh judge. Would you have preferred them to ignore it?? - not likely in this day and age.

if you have problems with a company taking money from your account without authorisation..... then cancel the direct debit or the standing order, then they cant get the money, hardly rocket science.. !!

Think that does my head in is that on the Freeview Digibox the signal goes out at 3am - so they might have a great schedule but thats no good for the US fights.

Nowhere do they clearly state that it goes off at 3am.

Not as easy as it sounds. If you cancel a direct debit, and they try to take money from it, they may well get very nasty, send you a bill etc or even threaten to legal actions. I'm not saying Setanta specifically, but in the past I've found that if you don't cancel "officially" with them companies can get very moody and demanding. Of course, if the company is difficult to cancel with (unable to contact) then that could be a real problem.

Setantas " 2 months minimum " and 30 day notice period somewhat contradict their "no subscriptions" policy.

i'm still getting charged 15 quid a month instead of 10.

keep meaning to get on the phone to em about it and get it knocked down to 10.

should be a bundle of fun getting this 5 quid dropped by the sounds of it.

No probs with Setanta. Except missing the post Hatton v Castillo cancellation window by a day and then paying another month, then dithering over getting Calzaghe for too long and missing the £5 month for three months offer.

I've read elsewhere they're very happy to drop your account from 15 to 10 with little fuss.

I was far from impressed with Setanta's coverage of last night's fights. As i had to watch the UFC at 8 (promised my brother weeks ago), i watched the repeat of the Skelton fight straight afterwards at 11. I wasnt interested in the undercard but the show started with the first bell, and ended with the scorecards. No preview, no ringwalks, no interviews, no analysis.

If that wasnt bad enough, i was up early yesterday so since Setanta had a 2 hour repeat show of the RJJ - Tito fight this afternoon at 1.30, i decided i would watch that rather than stay up till up till 6am. I really wanted to see the Karmazin fight and i expected that to be on as well as Golota, but they showed the main event and then the show finished an hour earlier than scheduled straight after the scorecards were read out. At least if i'd known i could have recorded the live show.

I had aspect ratio (window box specifically) problems on the US show last night. The Skelton fight fitted into widescreen fine, but the US coverage wouldn't cooperate & this had a nasty border that would not be shifted. God knows why they have to try and put everything in widescreen. A fight looks fine in regular 4:3 (1.33:1).

Even at £15 a month i would still pay it.

Great value... Hatton castillo, mayweather, cotto, calz kessler and next Enzo Haye..

MEGA.

Although sky with their deep pockets could get these in a blink if they wanted.

Although i hear the sky man who sorts the boxing selection is a ladyplace and even the promoters dont talk to him verbally - just via email.
