A parially correct sentence from Eubank there. I love Eubank, but sorry he didn't make any effort to fight Jones, Toney etc.

Exactly, and Toney said he'd fight him and Benn on the same night. I love that footage....

Btw, I may have missed this on another thread but according to BN, Hatton is completely out of the p4p top 10, is nowhere in the light-welter ratings and is number 8 at welter!

I thought that was a bit harsh coming off one loss to the p4p king.

Hatton's saying he doesn't want to give Witter the payday, but he should remember that it's the fans who would be paying for it. Hatton would not lose money by fighting. I support him, but I do not support his excuse.

Shame Hatton's still going to have thousands of fans even after being exposed like this.

I did like him but the crap he's coming out with lately all because he beat Tszyu.

He can fight DLH but he can use the weight excuse to still look like he's good enough.

Hattons the only one that can be accused of running from a fight, do you think Hatton is right to duck his arch-rival for nigh on a decade? Do you think this is good for boxing?

....and in the universe :)

Hatton would beat him at that weight, Witter's done nothing to prove he's any better than Malignanni.

Hatton lost to Mayweather. He's not shot. You'd think he was after reading this thread.

And I take it you'll all be at his next fight? If you lot go it'll double the crowd :D

I peronally don't think Hattons shot, the only criticism I can level at him (and its a BIG one) is that he won't fight Junior. Hatton may or may not beat Witter at 140, we the British Boxing fans deserve to know either way. I used to think Hatton would win it on points, but I've changed my mind and now I think Witter stops him mid-fight.

Its unlikely I'll be at Juniors (or Hattons, Audleys, Calzaghes, Frochs, Hayes, Enzos...) next fight as I struggle to get off the settee*, but I don't see how that gives Hatton a valid excuse for avoiding his arch-rival.

*I guarentee I'll be watching all of their next fights on TV

An 8 round fighter gets a chance to fight the hottest Fighter in the Division and the WORLD CHAMPION and he wins 3/4 rounds and lasts the distance on 7 days notice?

Most would have been knocked out!

You see wining 3 round out of 12 rounds of a WORLD TITLE SHOT in cowardly fashion as the mark of a great champion? He wasn't 18 for good ness sake, he was about 23/24...

I can see some of your points and agree with some of them, but Witter is not as deserving of praise as Ricky Hatton. No chance.

Hatton wouldn't take ANY fight on 9 days' notice.

He needs four months to dry out and get down from Shirley Crabtree proportions.

How about: Ricky 'The Shit-House' Hatton

I've been a Hatton fan for ages, and even i'm getting tired of his refusal to fight Witter. It's the best avliable fight at the weight. The top two in the division facing off. Throw in the whole rivalry thing and it makes even more sense.

Is it me or does Ricky sound like the biggest hypocrite on the planet at the moment? He won't fight Junior because he doesn't want to give him his biggest pay-day, because Junior doesn't stop slagging him off, which is okay. But he's okay to accept his biggest pay-day vs Floyd when he arguably only got that fight because he slagged Floyd off after he beat Castillo.

I like Ricky, but he's starting to piss me off.

I like Ricky as well, which is what makes this pathetic 'anti-Witter fight' stance all the more annoying.

Ricky plays the 'Peoples Champion' card when it suits him, but not when it suits the people
