Good one from RJJ last night regarding his specialised Grant TKE gloves:

"I tried to do good for the TKE, but Tito's father was obstinate, and Tito wouldn't even talk to me," Jones said. "I have to wear Everlast gloves, so Tito will get an everlasting lick upside his head."

in the 1950's lightweight Art Aragon was in court accused of fight fixing. When an old opponent said he was paid to take a dive in the 3rd round . Art Aragon angrily said " Thats a lie - it was the fifth round" . Aragon got 5 years.

I always liked this one from Jack Johnson.

He was driving his car and crossed the state divide so a police car stoppe dhim and fined him so Johnson gave him twice the fine the police office asked him why he'd done that Johnson replied "Because i'll be coming back this way too!"

Also a big fan of Antonio Tarver "Have you got your excuses tonight Roy"

Obviously not for art lovers, but pretty funny all the same :D

I believe he nicked that line off a famous American football coach.
I thought it came from an Ice Cube lyric?

Ali would be a dope MC ..

but Lenox lewis steals the cake with this .."PUT UP OR SHUT UP" going at tyson..way to go Lewis, so dry and sh!t!!
How about Lewis biding his time while listening to Kevin Barry going on about this great gameplan Team Tua had devised. He had it written down, as well, and was waving the paper around in front of the press. "This plan", etc.

Lewis asked if he could see the paper. Barry passed it to him, Lewis took one look at it, tore it in half and simply said: "Fiction."

"Last night I had a dream, when I got to Africa, I had one hell of a rumble. I had to beat Tarzan’s behind first, for claiming to be King of the Jungle. For this fight, I’ve wrestled with alligators, I’ve tustled with a whale. I done handcuffed lightning and put thunder in jail. You know I’m bad. I have murdered a rock, I’ve injured a stone, and hospitalized a brick. I’m so bad, I make medicine sick.
I’m so fast, man, I can run through a hurricane and don't get wet. When George Foreman meets me, he’ll pay his debt. I can drown the drink of water, and kill a dead tree. Wait till you see Muhammad Ali."
lol, legend.

well its fair to say, the King of Quotes and legendary 1 liners is Tyson

"When you see me smash somebody's skull, you enjoy it."

"I try to catch him right on the tip of the nose, because I try to push the bone into the brain."

How dare these boxers challenge me with their primitive skills? It makes me angry. They're just as good as dead."

"My power is discombobulatingly devastating I could feel is muscle tissues collapse under my force. It's ludicrous these mortals even attempt to enter my realm."

"No one gives a f**k about me. No one cares if my children starve, if they're on welfare. I have to support my children. I need more money."

"I like the British bikes. I like British people. They're real mellow."

"I just want to conquer people and their souls."

"I'm on the Zoloft [an antidepressant] to keep from killing y'all."

"'March 18: Mike Tyson - Razor ruddock'; Razzor ruddock dies, if he doesn't die it doesn't count, if he's not dead, it don't count"

went a bit over board, but still, the guy is a legend

Yeah and after all those mad nights and knockouts with Tyson. this is how he's ended up, a quote by Kevin Mcbride "Mike Tyson will be a good stepping stone for me so I can move on to better things."

Did you ever think you'd see the day when Tyson was reduced to that.

Its a tough game
