Didn't DLH supply Hatton with some sparring partners for the Mayweather fight? And weren't they sparring partners he had also used in preparation for his own fight with Floyd? Now wouldn't it be even more shocking if Forbes was one of Oscar's former sparring partners? I'm not sure Forbes was, in fact, one of Hatton's sparring partners for the Floyd fight, though I'm sure he was for the Castillo fight. Seemed a strange choice, as Forbes' and Castillo's styles are completely different. Anyway, DLH-Forbes is a complete mismatch and inexcusable, particularly when you look at the talent available amongst genuine 147-154 pounders. Not that it makes it any more acceptable, but isn't this going to be an undercard fight on a bill topped by Mosley? Possible opponents for Mosley are rumoured to be Cintron or Williams.

Pathetic matchup, can't imagine anyone will watch this paid for mugging.

And this is a "warm up" for a rematch than no one wants to see anyway?

If Oscar wants a rematch, he should tell his lawyers to give that hotel girl with the photos a call.

I am surprised at the match up and aint convinced it will happen. However, its not great - but I am happy he is taking the Floyd rematch seriously as a fight and not just a boxing specticale that will earn him a huge coin.

The one thing that was against DLH in the first fight was rust (alongside age, but that aint going to change).... I think this is a fight that will help get rid of the rust. As a previous poster said, I just hope they don't hype it up as anything more than that and fair play, on a few occasions Oscar has had low key returns that have been treated as relatively low key affair (DLH vs Peter Buckley would probably fill the MGM Grand)... like his fights with Corley and even Gatti and Castillejo to a lesser extent.

The venue seems an interesting choice and a good one for those hoping it will be a low key affair.

As warm up fights go, its almost as good as it gets. Forbes is a small, slickster with durability. He hasn't got anything to beat Oscar with (hence it is a warm up) but he has got speed and movement and shares some attributes with Mayweather.... Super Zab would have been possibly better, but he hits maybe a bit too hard for a tune up and isn't reliable enough on his own chin to go the rounds DLH needs to.

Yes, I am a DLH fan and I think I and boxing will miss him dearly when he does retire. I would love to see him and Mayweather fight again, the first fight was a tad controvesial - a fair few thought DLH won and he seemed to have the style to always trouble Floyd. His hand speed troubled Floyd. It just it seemed like he almost forgot what was winning him the fight. Watching him on the Hatton 24/7 show - he seemed to be kicking himself throughout.

Good Post. I thought the exact same thing about Forbes been a similar style to Mayweather (especially as hes now a Mayweather trained fighter). Forbes didnt do Hatton that much good though in prepping him for Floyd

You may be right. I just heard that Hatton had got some sparring partners from DLH. I might have assumed they were the ones he'd used for Mayweather.

I thought DLH only used Mosley for the Mayweather fight.

He would always have a selection of sparring partners so they could rotate after a few rounds and stay fresh; never just one.

I know he sparred Mosley, Panchito and a few quick but relatively unknown US guys for that fight..
