Froch is indeed a good fighter, and has world class power, but I cannot see him beating Kessler unless he lands an absolute bomb and takes him out. Kessler is technically good, consistent, big, strong and determined, and doesn't leave as many holes as Froch.

Calzaghe didn't get involved with Kessler, because every time he did, he got hit and hurt.

so boxing him for 12 rounds doesn't count as getting involved. he walked through everything kessler threw at him. yes kessler caught him, but at the end of the day, who won the fight? come on james, credit where credit's due.

I think Froch would win, I think he has the skill which his ameter peddaggree and the number of difficult opponents he's beaten testifies to.
Reid
Barney
Maggee
Porres
He also has a greater power which he will count in important championship fights.

Outside of the top 5 there aren't many he could have fought and he's about to fight Inkin who is clearly top 5. I think we'll know more post Inkin

What are you on about. It was an awesome performance by Calzaghe, one of the best I've seen in my lifetime.

The point I am making is that Calzaghe couldn't take liberties with kessler, because Kessler was just too good. Calzaghe pissed all over Lacy, but whilst he dominated Kessler, Mikkel was too good to just be walked down and thumped around the ring.

Calzaghe had to be cautious throughout the fight, there were two occasions where he tried to put his foot on the gas and open up on Kessler, but on both occasions he took really big shots which definetly hurt him.

I am making this point not to bring Calzaghe down in people's eyes, but to point out just how good Kessler is, and the fact that Froch, in my opinion, would not have his beating.

I'd give Carl a good chance to beat JC. As RJJ said "you've got to knock him out to beat him" and there arent many BIGGER punchers than Our Carly at SM.

There are some great fights out ter for Froch once Inkins been sent packing Bute, Kessler, Mundine, Lacy, Bika, Braehmer, Andrade, Miranda, Green. Pascal and possibly Jermaine Taylor would all make for great fights. It should be an excellent few years at 168 providing politics and egos don't get in the way

Think Bute will probably be the next star. Could be a Calzaghe like champion taking easy defenses and then looking very good when he has to. Looked pretty impressive knocking out Alejandro Berrio for the IBF belt. Bute will be 1 of these home advantage guys, who hangs around log enough that ppl have to come to him.

Kessler can regroup but methinks he has to go through Bute sometime - away from home, vs a popular draw, who happens to be a quick handed southpaw. In other words, hard work for Kessler - who may be better suited waiting for Pavlik or Taylor - but a great storyline.

The man is 30 and still hasn't fought a world class opponent. He won't beat Bute, he won't beat Kessler and he wouldn't have a chance in hell of beating Calzaghe.

Froch could maybe beat Bute but Kessler would Knock him out and Calzaghe would make a fool of him and beat him in a UD - Anyway he has quite a handful in Dennis Inkin who wont be comming to Nottingham to be just another name on the Froch record - If anyone is underestimated at SM its Inkin - I expect to see him exploit the low hands of Froch and draw him into a war - I really cant see Froch stopping him and Inkin could nick it on points - Kessler for my money is the main man though and should beat the rest.

I'm surprised you can't see Froch stopping Inkin, it's the only result that I can see, admittedly I'm a Froch fan and haven't seen much of Dennis, but Inkin was dropped in his last fight (and others I think) and Frochy put him down heavily in the 4th round of their amateur contest (which Froch lost), a suspect chin Vs a humungous.

Froch would love it to be a war IMO

I like Kessler's attitude and hope he makes a recovery as their was talk in his homeland of retirement by 2009.

The doctors advised it on account of his mulitple injuries..hands..back etc.

Froch would get Lacy'ed.

He'll lose to a good counter puncher with timing. He can't even knock down Reid without walking Into him like a shove.

Heck, someone with a high workrate and fast hands can beat him or give him fits. Dodson lost but looked like he made Froch uncomfortable with his pressure until he got hit with the body shot. He was losing the fight though so no one gets the wrong Idea.

Froch thinks he's a Roy Jones or PBF with that style.

Miranda couldn't even stop a broken jawed Abraham and was easily walked down by Pavlik.

He's a guy with a padded record who loses when he faces world level fighters.

Before Eastman I was suprised how high the IBF ranked him.

Yes I have noticed you are a Froch fan Stuart - It was you that had me sent to the Tower of London the last time we crossed swords over Mr. Froch - I do think it will be a tough fight for both men - Not a nice easy night as it has been for Carl in many of his fights - We shall have to wait and see - By the way my back is healing nicely after the 10 lashes a day Waylon

Kessler if he has no major fitness problems will be the man. I like Carl but he still has some flaws and Kessler is such a strong allround fighter. I can't see Kessler having too big a problem with Bute either, too much like a poor man's Calzaghe to me and Kessler wasn't far off Joe.

Kessler, then Bute and Froch, then Brahmer and the others.

From Kessler's site:
2008 will be a year of new challenges and my goal is to be World Champion as soon as possible. It's truly my ambition to win back "my" belts and ad some more to them. How this is going to happen outside the ring, is for my manager to sort out.
I heard some roomers that I was going to quit, but as long as I feel hungry I wouldn't even dream about it. I'm mentally and physically on the peak of my career and really look forward to step into the ring again and prove that I'm good and skilled boxer.

I would like to thanks all of my fans for supporting me and off course my family, sponsors and the rest of team Kessler, without you I couldn't live my dream.

Nottingham Castle wasnt a nice place in the past, its a museum these days - I live 17 miles away from Nottingham in Derby - Derby was the last place in Britain to stop hanging, drawing and quartering people and last place to set up a police force - I am a born and bred Londoner actually and spent my first 25 years there - Wouldnt go back if I was given Buck House to live in!!!
