What is that's so bad that Witter said?

Post by oliverfennell »

Most of us agree Hatton's logic for not fighting Witter is bogus, but I wonder, what is it exactly that Ricky perceives as being so bad that Witter has said?

All I have seen is Witter repeatedly claiming he woudl beat Hatton, or at worst saying his between-fight binges are not good for him. He's never personally insulted him. The Thaxton interview interruption was a bit off, admittedly. But as for the actual war of words, I don't think Witter's said anything particularly bad.

In a sport where we've had boxers predicting they'll send opponents to join their dead mothers (Mayorga-Spinks), calling opponents cockroaches (Audley-Williams), throwing their flag on the floor (Hopkins-Trinidad) and, erm, calling them a poof (Hatton-Mayweather) and a child (Hatton-Mayweather), and worse, what has Junior done that's so bad?

How many times does it need to be said ?

I'm sure a contributing factor was Witter's lack of class and untimely intrusion in Ricky's post fight interview when he had just claimed the British title, a very proud moment in his career.

There's probably been some other issues Hatton has taken exception too as well, but do yourself a favour and watch the post fight interview. It was a poor showing from Witter, who was no doubt egg'd on by Brenden Dingle.

Absolutely agree, and I said so in my first post.

But other boxers have done and said far worse things before and since. Does that make it OK? No, but it makes Hatton's excuses look feeble.

Witter hasn't said anything that bad about Junior.

He certainly didn't diss the whole of Hattons career on live national TV as Hatton did to PBF?

"What I amuse you, I make you LAUGH, I'm here for your fucin amusement."

"It's the way you talk, I mean the way you tell stories..."

Me and my mate Laudis still have endless fun with that one...

Was Joe Pesci a stand up comedian? I can imagine it, he's got great timing has the little guy. He's also incredibly scary for a little guy. He's fantastic in Casino, he really is the star turn in that film, along with Sharon Stone.

Goodfellas really is a work of art, there's not a single scene in that film which is flab, not a wasted moment or shot, it's definetly Scorcese's magnum opus.

Yes there are some small people that are scary, Have you seen the film 'Sexy Beast'?

Not the greatest film ever, but Ben Kingsley puts in a great performance as a nutter crime boss. You wouldn't mess with him :TU:

It says in The Bible that he provded all the non-poisonous plants to provide sustenance for man. I'm glad to see you take your Christian duties so seriously.
Thats one in the bank for the next time I get in a discussion with someone from the God Squad

What happened to Jehovahs witnesses? I've been dying for one to knock on my door for years, so that I can enlighten him into where he's going wrong.

The Witnesses are still about. Thats one religion I have no time for. Its based on complete nonsense and barefaced lies and a few years ago my daughter and I did an exercise which proved it was, beyond all doubt. One Witness with over 20 years in the movement left because of our findings - The silly buggers challenged us so we took them on and offered solid evidence with the help of some experts that they couldnt deny. Most are so brain washed they believe red is really blue and will try to get you to believe the same, so whatever you do, you are bashing your head against a brick wall. Their founder Judge Rutherford (no more a judge than I am) was a con man - Thats something most of them dont know.

Its beyond Obvious Hatton is just too Shaken and Broken after the Mayweather Fight, and just aint got it to fight Witter

I made the same point in a post I made yesterday - What did Witter say that was so bad it created a vendetta - You would think Witter had disrespected Hattons family for such bad feelings to exist - Plain and simple Hatton wont take the risk of being beaten by a fellow Brit - That would make him second in Britain and ruin both his world ranking and his legacy - I think he will pay the price for avoiding Witter - If he is the best LWW in the country and the world, he has to prove it.

Yeah, he was part of a duo with Frank Vincent (he kills Frank in 'Fellas' and Frank kills him in 'Casino'. He also released a lounge lizard singing album or two. The front cover is Joe in a crushed red-velvet suit :o
Pesci also gives Frank a beating in Raging Bull - that bit where he slams him with the cab door outside the nightclub. Goodfellas, Casino, Raging Bull... love 'em.
