Mundine/Hamdan undercard

Post by shell09 »

After this fight Choc needs to starts fighting abroad.

Does anyone know if he'll have problems getting fights in the US because of his comments relating to 9/11. I hope not because against some topline fighters he'd give them value for money.

I can guaruntee he wouldn't be well recieved in the US. If you don't believe me PM verballistic and ask him what he thinks...

As for the card it is pretty much what you expect from a Mundine card.

Why bother. The guy's repeated himself enough on the topic (and several others).

Choc would be fine to go to the US, if for no other reason the Americans would love to see him lose over there.

Mundine has fought in the US after his comments.

Besides, the average American has no idea who he is. Even the average fan who goes to watch a fight will not know about what he said regarding 9/11. The news in the US didn't cover what an Australian Rugby player turned boxer said.

My bad, I thought he had a fight at Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun a few years ago.

It is rather strange that Mundine has not fought outside Australia since Ottke KOed him.

New Zealand? Perth is further away from Sydney than Auckland. Be serious!

At Federation New Zealand nearly became an Australian state. There is an old joke that a New Zealander is somebody who cannot afford the rent on a Bondi flat. My point was that you would think that a top ten fighter, let alone a World champ, would find fights in North America and Europe, to draw big crowds.

Truly, no value for money with this undercard:

- 5 four rounders
- 1 six rounder

and how many will go the distance?

Pity the folk who donate their money paying at the gate or via Mainevent.

Two first round KOs already. They may have to put a football game on between the main prelim and the main event!

Hey Brute, could you please keep us up to date with proceedings. Don't think I'll get away from work for a while.

I'm only getting the results off the computer. Even if I had bought the fight, there is an electric storm playing buggery with the cable. Sorry, mate.

If you were wondering, Kazzi and Awad were the winners. There is a break in the weather, I might go round the pub.

Well, so much for that. The pub doesn't have it on, the club is too far away.

Four fights with a total of six rounds. Are the red corner all Tony Mundine's ex nuptial children? They all seem to have his chin!

One four rounder, one six rounder and then the main event. Maybe everybody wants an early night.
