I did watch the video.

It's no excuse. He was hammering a man that looked like he was unconscious.
I haven't watched that video, but if it doesn't mention it on there Paret's hand was stuck in the ropes so the (dckhead) ref though he could still stand.

That was his excuse anyway.

reading Duran's book, he said that Moore was never the same again.

At least with the way it played out, no-one can complain that Lacy would have knocked Calzaghe out later on. I'm happy about that.
I don't think you'd have heard that anyway, even from our one eyed cousins accross the Atlantic. Lacy was gone from mid way onward and looked like a ghost as he walked back to his corner even in the mid rounds!
Have you visited the "Current Scene" yet?
I avoid it like ht eplague - people on this board have been polite, friendly and welcoming, whilst offering a nice level of discussion of one of my favourite topics. I tried the curernt scene for five minutes and quickly decided I'd rather have dinner with the Hitlers!

black panther wrote:The worst stoppage I have ever watched was a strwaweight title fight for the IBF title between Edgar Cardenas and Daniel Reyes. It was on the undercard of EriK Morales and Guty Espadas II. Reyes pretty much pounded Cardenas with punch after punch from round 2 onwards. It was clear to everyone that Cardenas was gone but referee Jack Reiss let it go on.
Yes that was a real horror show, the referee needed to be banned for life no doubt about it.

Gerry Cooney v Ken Norton

Only lasted about a minute, but the ref must have been relaxing in a hammock on the other side of the ring, while Ken nearly has his head sent into the cheap seats. Cooney could have killed him there to be honest.
