Spinks knew Tyson would be the King of he HW that particular Era...

He fought him, got his Cash, and got outta there..

IMO, he must have thought to try and last as long as he could,
But that First Crack From Tyson straight to the Face sent him flying...

Looking at his Face when trying to get up, its as if someone shot him

Tyson was too strong for Spinks. For those of you rubishing spinks, Tyson after winning the unification tournament put every opponent on the canvas until Holyfield. Alex Stewart, Carl Williams, Tillman got canned in one. Bruno hit the canvas in the first round although he got up. Spinks is the greatest light heavyweight ever imo and deserves respect.

Spinks ahead of Moore, Charles, Tunney & Conn?

Regardless, that's not at issue here. The issue is whether Spinks quit, or whether he was beaten - IMO, he quit. It was pretty awful.

You certainly could make the arguement that Spinks was the #1 lightheavy of all time. He beat great competition and never lost at that weight.

He didn't quit against Tyson. He was knocked silly.

It's interesting about Marciano-Moore and Tyson-Spinks. Many, including myself, feel that Marciano and Tyson were overrated. On the other hand, Moore and Spinks are respected as two of the greatest Light Heavyweights of all time, two top P4P fighters. So, because of this, some seem to question the two fights, thinking "how could someone as great as Moore lose to Marciano" or "how could someone like Spinks be so totally demolished by Tyson."

I think we have to remember the difference in size and age. There's nothing questionable about these fights, these guys just got beat.
