Not surprised you don't recognise the number. Boxing imports to Aus are usually arranged by dialling the number for taxi services in Manila and Bangkok.

Ask if any have Saturday night off, and if not, do they have the number of any roadsweeping companies.

Not for one fight. Too far to fly him in from Vegas, especially without there being a marquee heavyweight in Oz, but if he was to base himself there for 6-12 months, then he could be worth it.

I tried hard, but couldn’t find an OZ promoter drunk enough to consider it :P

I'm surprised at some of the guys bagging Couser. He would be a far better opponent for Solomon Haumono than the stiffs Solo has been fighting

I would have loved to have been able to to bring Cliff over here... But you need to have money to do that or someone that will back you! Cliff emailed me a few times and he said he was keen to get a 3 fight deal. It would have been good to get him a warm up fight, then throw him in with Col then if he beat Col chase a bigger fish.... Or even a fight with Bob. It may even be a good first fight for Mark when he goes over to the USA

Absolutely. Cliff's got his share of defeats, but he's a damn sight better than Moses Kavika, Waisiki Ligaloa, Hirawa Ti Rangi and co.

Let us face it. He is not winning many fights lately. He has been KOed in less than two rounds in four of his last five fights, and the one man he beat KOed him in a rematch. He got KOed in two by Calloway, and Calloway could only manage a points decision against poor old Bob Mirovic. If we want to bring in a heavy from overseas, surely we could do better than that!

Maybe we should see how Cliff goes against unbeaten prospect Chris Arreola on the ninth of this months.

Agree with you, but as said, he's better than the usual heavyweight imports. He can sure talk up a fight, too, and sorry to say it, but there's no heavyweight in Australia nearly as good as those who have beaten him recently.

Also the "one man he beat" was Monte Barret. Fair enough Barret may have been looking beyond that fight and then swiftly redeemed himself, but that's still a good win to have on your CV.

Barrett is really reaching for the stars, isn't he? His next fight is against Damon Reed, who Kali Meehan cleaned up in six a couple of years ago.

Apart from Thompson, I don't see anybody of note in his recent list. About the best of the rest is Moorer, and he is on the slide.

It is a bit of a worry that oxygen was needed to revive Couser after Moorer KOed him in 2006.
