Sugar Ray still a big earner...

A boxing dinner in Newcastle costing £100 a ticket has sold out 10 months before it's due to take place!
All tickets have gone for the visit of Sugar Ray Leonard on October 9 at The Holiday Inn in the city centre.
It's the culmination of talks between Leonard's management and Martyn Devlin of Fighting Talk Promotions that lasted 18 months.
Originally, Sugar Ray wanted £30,000 per show, but has now settled on a package of twenty grand an appearance for seven shows across the country.
"Sugar Ray is an absolute legend, probably the greatest pound for pound fighter in the history of boxing," Devlin told me.
"He is generating huge interest everywhere."

I always wince when I hear a fighter labelled as the greatest pound for pound fighter ever, because it's not a label that should be banded around loosely.
For the record, here's my all-time top ten:

2. MUHAMMAD ALI
3. JOE LOUIS
4. HENRY ARMSTRONG
5. WILLIE PEP
6. ROY JONES JUNIOR
7. SUGAR RAY LEONARD

He was a great boxer, but compared to some of the other guys who could be called the best ever; yes, he was shit.

Good list Bennie. I would probably only reverse the positions of Leonard and Jones on that list, but you can't really argue too much - a solid top ten.
