Barry -- the Ohio PLK I doubt was the same middleweight who fought Tarrante at middle -- that PLK was from MA.

Your Ohio guy is a lightweight -- I am pretty sure they are different fighters.

Also, not to be confused with late 20s PLK, who was also known as Abie Alvarez, who later changed his name to Chino Alvarez!

I wasn't aware of another "Patent Leather Kid." Was he the Cuban Chino Alvarez who fought out of Cuba and Tampa? I'm pretty sure that the Ohio Kid, later went by his real name, which was Harold "Hank" Henderson. Thanks for the correction!

Well, your guy, Chino Alvarez, and a middleweight out of MA makes 3 different fighters.

The Cocoa Kid and Jimmy tarrante fights beloing to the MA PLK.

Great -- by the way, there was at least one other Patent Leather Kid -- a feather who fought around 1928-1933 in Maine -- he only had 8 fights though!

AND DON'T FORGET KID CHAROL WHO FOUGHT A DRAW WITH DAVE SHADE. HIS NAME WAS ESTEBAN GALLARD BUT KID CHAROL MEANS -IN SPANISH- PATENT LEATHER KID.

IN HIS HONOR THERE WERE OTHER CUBAN FIGHTERS -KID CHAROL II- A COUSIN OF THE ORIGINAL- KID CHAROLITO AND KID CHAROLITO ESPIRITUANO -ORLANDO CEPEDA- WHO FOUGHT GEORGE BENTON.
