ITV only show Amir's fights, he Is contracted to them through FW's exclusive deal still so no way could Hennessy promote It.Box Office wrote:I would think his Promoters contracted not him
Even still the fight could happen, I am sure ITV would have approved that fight in a second.
I find it strange that his own personal solicitor withdraws him from the Thaxton fight. Sounds like he really did not want the job!

Jon says Sports Network have never made him an offer and I am sure he's telling like it is. Amir pulled himself out of the purse bids, that says it all, end of story!
So as far as the 50/50 split, the BBB of C called that one, Jons champ sounds fair to me. If Amir beats him he'll have his turn to may the Lions share!
Thaxton has earned what he has in the pro game, he should get a good pay day. All Amir has done is get dropped to the canvas from a light puncher.
Remember it was Amir who came out in the press disrespecting Jon , he always runs his mouth and then runs off!
I bet you he's not getting anywhere near what Hennessy offered him to fight Thaxton, That was a great offer!
I think he's pulling a Hatton!

Again no chance Thaxton is worth 50% of a fight with Amir when 10% would be a career high payday. This fight was never going to purse bids and if Henessey told Thaxton to wait for purse bids they were stupidBox Office wrote:Jon says Sports Network have never made him an offer and I am sure he's telling like it is. !
If SN hasnt made him an offer then its a hard break for Thaxton. But he has the British title and can make money fighting John Murray. Why dont they want this fight?

Limond would outbox Thaxton.
Limond Is underrated and can be a solid euro level fighter who relies on his skills. Thaxton lately Is relying on his punch and looking horrid while at It too.
Limond was slipping and moving his head under Khan even when he was taking so much punishment and was timing his shots and was decently accurate.
Amir underestimated him and was stupidly letting his guard down.
A puncher needs more than his fist If he's going to chin check Khan, Thaxton Is overrated.
All Amir needs to do Is keep his guard up and he'll make Thaxton look like an amateur.
Your well biased for Hennessy promoted fighters, the majority of your posts are mostly about Hennessy and his fighters.

So in that case you think its fair a boxer getting more hype is allowed to get the lions share of the money .. even if he is the challenger?
Lets not forget Jon is the champion
If the ITV contract is such a big deal then Khans promoter should have put in a higher bid to guarantee it ... ITV have no doubt added a substantial amount of money behind Khan that puts Hennessy at a disadvantage.
Fwanks lawyers as we know keep a keen eye for possible libel claims ... so would Jon/Hennessy risk telling anything other than the truth in regard to this
ps.
How does watching Thaxton fight Stewart convince you "only a world level fighter will test Khan's chin" ... this you gotta explain

Thaxton had It tough vs Lawton too, Khan blew Lawton away. Khan would of stopped Stewart In 3 rounds at most too overwhelming him with fast shots.tonyevs wrote:So in that case you think its fair a boxer getting more hype is allowed to get the lions share of the money .. even if he is the challenger?![]()

Thaxton was getting hit with basic shots against Stewart, all Stewart did was use his height and reach and throw the basics. yet posters tell me Thaxton Is a counter puncher and It Is strange considering he used to train under the Ingles.
Thaxton tries that go for Ko stuff against Khan and he will be sliced open. Limond actually used skill.
Frank's bid probably was higher, since when can Hennessy afford to pay 400 grand to any fighter? Witter's brilliant world champion and I bet he hasn't even paid Junior anywhere near that.
Since when Is Hennessy worth a libel case?
If Khan's excluisvely contracted to ITV then he has to turn down Hennessy's 400k offer as he would breach his contract otherwise.

max - check out britishboxing.net
Thaxton says allegedly never made a bid, yet they submitted 300k and then 400k offers to Khan with their purse bids
He's also asking Simon Block to resign!

to clarify.... this was in a fight for THAXTONS belt, Khan being the mandatory.... if it were the other way around, obv Khan would have bigger cutChambers2 wrote:allegedly allegedly requested itLoynesy wrote:Of course Amir should fight Thaxton, but anyone who thinks it should be a 50/50 purse split is smoking dope.
Some blatantly ignorant views put forward I must say.
So I’ll answer some.
1. sweetscience, What exactly is your definition of hype? .. then look towards Khans pro career so far.
Whilst I agree it’s the fighter that makes the belt, the fact is that Khan wants the belt .. or says he does anyway, why go through the charade of purse bids – then pull yourself out at the very last moment?.
And I’d love to be your manager .. I’m sure other unscrupulous managers have made good money from people with your ..
umm .. intelligence.
2.Max Molyneux, your rambling on`s still don’t explain the point I asked of you .. how exactly does Thaxton fighting Stewart even begin to make sense of your claim `"only a world level fighter will test Khan's chin"
.. did Stewart borrow Khans chin that night?.
And Fwanks bid wasn`t higher … end of .. where did you dream this also?
Hennessy bid £400, if they could afford it .
.. thats another matter
..
but they obviously have proof to putting the offer in … and when was Hennessy worth a libel case you ask? … long before posters on here were deemed worthy of one I assure you.
3.And isn`t it standard practice the British champion receives the greater purse share? .. as said - regardless of hype the rules and norms should apply for all.
