Slightly off topic.....Kids at khan fight!!

There's no common parallel between the two opinions; I don't like kids watching *or* women taking part. I'd be more inclined to relax my views on the latter, because women are free to choose.

A few want to box and most don't want to watch; the sign of a degraded world? We're far from an apocalypse of morals yet, at least throughout the majority of the civilised world.

Given some of the sanctimony on this thread about a child being subjected to whatever, why are the said adults so drawn to this sport when it appears to be against their innate sensibility? I dont understand. I need some educating.

me to. i cant see what the big deal is about a child being at a boxing show. surely all the arguments against would also apply to wwf (american wrestling), and that sport

is aimed at the younger audience.

unfortunately people get kicks of seeing women fight these days, but its the womans choice isn't it. ive seen the effects of islam with my own eyes in iraq and afghanistan blowing innocent women and children to bits so don't come on here preaching about morals

I dont think you should take kids IMO but the 2 yr old is amirs niece so probably his sister couldnt get a babysitter.

The Mayweather kids were crying when Hatton was knocked out. Thats proof enough for me that its definately not a place for young childen to be.

There were a few grown up Hatton supporters who cried that night too - perhaps a boxing arena is no place for them either.

Funnily enough, my other half said 'fancy having kids in there' said in only a way a woman can say it.

Didn't bother me so much, but up past midnight in a rowdy atmosphere isn't a way I would bring my own siblings up :)

Boxing crowds are better behaved than most footy crowds (speaking as a cheerfully abusive football fan myself - yes I am on of the ones spoiling it for everyone else)... Boxers and Boxing is a better role model than football, the only thing I would say it is a late night for the kiddies

Personally my issue was to do with the time the kids where still up.

As a coach and trainer there are time when I am unable to get my own kids (12YO boy and 7YO and 3YO Girls) minded and they have to come to fights with me. I wouldn't take them to any fights at that time of night. I would take them to AMa shows on saturday afternnons and some early evening shows but they are never out after 8pm at boxing shows.

I have no issues with them watching the fights and they seem to enjoy boxing but not at that time of night and the shows that we go to wouldnt have the same atmosphere and there is rarely alcohol present.

Just my views.

I agree that, given the way it is now, boxing isn't suitable for younger children. There were some very offensive people in that crowd, drunks, racists etc- the atmosphere can be somewhat intimidating. This is the probelm of the venue- they need to sort this out.

I don't see a problem with children watching boxing, however with childrent hat young I would think that someone probably should be babysitting them at home (or wherever) rather than bringing them along. Obviously at that age they are too young to enjoy it, so why bring them?

I agree with whicker: it's an intimidating atmosphere for youngsters. That's my problem with it, rather than the actual fights. To address your point about attraction to a violent sport: don't we all want our children to better us?

This is the Khan family , right? He must have the cash to pay for a professional baby sitting service, in London or Bolton if need be. Or even pay for a close friend to come down and stay with the child in the hotel room.

Maybe it was Hard for the Neice to be with anyone except her Mum. And since her Mum was to support on Khan, there was little Choice.

Either way, its none of our business really... This is a Boxing Forum, not a Child-Watch Forum. IF there was something really wrong, then fair enough, something can be said, but it was nothing really bad now was it.
