Quote of the year?

Spinks trainer Kevin Cunningham ( boxingtalk ) in response to Zab's statement that he's going to knock out Spinks and take his title:

"We ain't giving away shit but hard dick and bubblegum! And we fresh out of bubblegum!"

Ah the Noble Art!

Trash talk is almost customary nowadays. But some of the best trash talkers are those who just limit themselves to the odd line here and there.
I remember listening to Beacon Radio in the Midlands in 1990 and they had Roy Skeldon, a bouncer from Tipton, in the studio with John Foreman, both of whom were due to meet later that week for the Midlands Area light-heavyweight title. An agitated Foreman was running off at the mouth about what he was going to do to Skeldon, and the interviewer then asked Skeldon what he thought of what Foreman had just said.
"I need a translater," said Skeldon.

Dunno... Antonio Tarver's quote when he was asked by Boxingtalk.com if a Jones v Ruiz rematch sells:

"Can a Buffalo skate? The only way they can sell that pugilistic abomination on pay-per-view is if the Virgin Mary was going to have Roy's baby. Then HBO would have to convince Oscar De La Hoya to fight a live body on the undercard for free, Don King would have to do the fight pro bono and Muhammad Ali be the guest referee!"

Superb.... a real step up from 'I'll moider da bum!'

Kenny Norton referring to Larry Holmes as a "pin head" made me laugh. He and Holmes really didn't like each other. I read in BM the other day that Norton wouldn't even go to a 25-year celebration of their classic 1978 fight.
