Calzaghe-Hopkins: No PPV in Aus

Post by AntonS »

SETANTA SPORTS has won the exclusive Australian broadcast rights for what it is billing as "the fight of 2008" – Joe Calzaghe's light-heavyweight contest against Bernard Hopkins on April 20 from Planet Hollywood Ring in Las Vegas. The Calzaghe vs Hopkins event is not available on a PPV basis, but only to subscribers of Setanta Sports in Australia. Existing customers will receive the boxing bout as part of their Setanta Sports monthly subscription.

It is only February. I am sure there are going to be plenty more "fights of the year" for 2008. :-?

Thats good all you have to do is subscribe to Setanta for one month at $15 and cancell before the month is up. Its far cheaper than a payperview and there are occasional other boxing matches in the month apart from the bloody Socccer.

I for one am glad they're not showing the fight in pubs and clubs. I reckon it's going to be a fizzer with Calzaghe running rings around an ancient Hopkins
