fat boys

Post by knockout »

from allegedly.tv

Danny Williams weighed in at a massive 18 stone, 11 pounds and 14 ounces for his British and Commonwealth heavyweight title defences against Michael Sprott.

At over 263 pounds, Williams weighed in eight pounds more than he did when he took on Sprott in September.

Sprott, meanwhile, came in at 17 stone one pound or 238 pounds, again around eight pounds heavier than when they met second time around.

The two slug it out at Wembley tommorow night.

Sprott will stop him.

I like Danny and want him to win, but at that weight, he will be breathing out of his arse after four rounds.

Danny should be fighting at approx 238lbs/17stone

Sprott should be fighting at approx 228/ 16stone 4lbs

The extra weight they're carrying acheives nothing other than the capability of lifting a bit more weight in the gym, this extra strength serves no benefit when you consider all the other factors that are hampered by the additional bulk.

I will now be going out tomorrow rather than watching the boxing, Danny will still win, but if these men who are supposed to be the best in Britain can't be bothered to:

a) Train hard

and

b) Train properly

I can't be bothered to watch them.

This must be a career-heaviest for Williams. He was 18st 6lbs for the Sam disaster (his heaviest ever at that point). Does anyone recall how much he weighed for the last Sprott fight?

I saw Williams in an interview the other night on Sky Sports Centre and he looked a little bloated, they also showed a clip of Danny when he trained in the Gleason's Gym a few years back and he looked a lot leaner and fitter back then. When fighters weigh in at these titanic weights they try to make excuses like "I thought i needed the extra pounds for strength in the clinches" blah blah. It is simply that they are unprofessional and have no limit to make so they are not under pressure to keep to a reasonable size. Williams wonders why he has not made the break through onto the major word scene and then weighs in like James Gaines, methinks he has been stuffing down too many Halal burgers with his mates down the Mosque

I will bet Sprott is in shape. He's probably been pumping weights, I would be very surprised if he came in flabby, this fight surely is too important to him...
