Crisanto Espana - why did he retire?

Just looking thru some records and spotted Crisanto Espana. He had a terrific record, lost only one fight (to Ike Quartey). He had one more and then seemed to disappear off the radar.

I can't recall if the Quartey fight was a "career ender" or if he had a managerial dispute, etc. Anyone know what made him stop fighting...??

Did a bit of further searching and it would appear that he suffered a detached retina and retired as a result. Not sure if that is definite so if anyone knows for sure...?
