What is Hattons "mentality to risk reward". He just fought the P4P best fighter in the world at a division above his normal one. He came up short but he put up a great fight.
Is Witter more dangerous than Mayweather? Is he f*ck.

So Tszyu and Castillo were little risk fights?

Tszyu = Two rounds in nearly three years, knees were shot to pieces. Hatton publicly said he wanted it so he got it at the best possible time due to Warren's timing and cash.

Castillo - Remind me what weight was he at his best? considered a shot fighter by all those in the trade. Good name for the CV but little risk.

Who picked Pedersen? Who wanted an extra £100k to fight him too?
Do you really think thats going to get answered?

A little harsh your assessment on the Tszyu situation - the man was injured, he couldn't have really got in at a much different time. Had Hatton was probably ready for Tszyu when he was on the sidelines.... before that Hatton wasn't ready, and he would say that publically.

Just wandering, as you do seem to have some insiders knowledge - whats Khan like behind closed doors. Does he have this "Hatton" mentality when it comes to risk reward... Is he really wanting a world title crack in the summer like he says publically.

He should become MR VISIBLE, wherever Hatton is he should within 10 feet.

The more Hatton said he didn't want the fight because Witter insulted him, he should have done it ten times worse not backed off.
Exactly!

He should ON HBO after Hopkins fight (Witter wins by KO!) say

'That kebab munching Pig called Hatton - step away from the Dinner plate and stop hiding behind your mums big knickers!

I will knock out you AND Matthew at the same time!
Hatton is a BUM - unless of course he steps up and fights Witter!

The world knows you are just a greedy drunk, but I would still knock you out just for being a drunkard and disgrace to the Sport of Boxing!

Put an S in front of Hitman and that is who you are!

Punk ass!

( Said while wearing a T Shirt showing Hitman and his Mum as Shrek and Princess Fiona).

THEN HBO WOULD DEMAND THE FIGHT AND THE BOXING WORLD WILL WANT TO SEE IT!

Hatton?? Hatton??

Pederson took the fight at short notice when I think Pinto pulled out, so its difficult to diss Hatton for that one IMO, but if he wanted an extra £100k to fight a lightweight who took the fight at short notice and had hardly mixed in World Class then that's taking the Michael
I remember when they picked Pederson i'm sure Witter made himself available to step in at late notice and i'm sure I remember him making his financial requirements public (think I remember £35k but could be well wrong)

You can't blame MH for not delivering the Hatton fight. Only Hatton can agree to it and two big promoters have tried and failed and Hatton is the common fault. He simply does not want to fight Witter. It's not money, denying Witter the payday - he just does not fancy it, never has.

What happened to "Junior go and win a major belt and earn the fight" He's doen that and still Hatton won't do it.

And for the record, Witter won British, Commonwealth, a world title fight and became European and World # 1 under Sports Network not MH.

You are entirely missing the point.

There was no risk in fighting mayweather. Hatton was not expected to beat him and losing to the P4P top dog does little to diminish his status, although in this case, getting stopped by Mayweather has tarnished Hatton a little.

There was also a career biggest purse involved.

Fighting Witter entails a big risk also, but nowhere near as much money, and should Hatton lose, not only is he not the top 140 lb fighter in the world, he ain't even the best in Britain.

Now, I've always believed Hatton had Witter's measure, and still do, but I don't think it's an easy fight for Hatton, who seems to be slowing a little, and can be countered a little more easily as a result.

Boxingchat do you have insight into the claims that Mayweather said he would come down to 140 to fight Hatton but The Hatton's wanted it at 147 in order that he wouldnt lose his 140lb status. Floyd apparently said this in an interview.

Also do you know how many times Ricky was offered the fight. Were these offers genuine?

Indeed, but he did fall out of favour with SN it seems.

Was that down to the souring relationship between SN and the Ingles rather than Witter himself?

Didn't Witter win his European title on a Hennessy show in Nottingham?

I think semantics are catching you out Beagle, B-C didn't mention becoming champion - just #1.

He mean's ranked contender I suspect.

First I've heard of that. Mayweather held the title at 147 lbs. Hatton was offered Witter and Mayweather fights whilst at SN that is a fact and the letters are on record.

As for his 140 lbs status, what status the IBO?

There is no one to blame for Hatton V Witter not taking place but Ray and Ricky Hatton.

Witter didn't get treated bad by SN nor did he get put out to grass either. He had a WBO fight with Kelson Pinto and withdrew claiming a bad hand. He then got drawn to Hennessy by the Ingles. SN and the Ingles are fine as are Witter and SN. They nearly came back last year.

And where would you envisage Witter being now (as in boxing standing) if he had stayed with SN?

I've always maintained it was a big mistake to leave SN when he did - I feel his best years have long gone.

I also recall Frank commenting that the Ingle camp should stick to training rather than managing fighters.
