he'll be lucky to get a fight with his next door neighbour now, surely the wbu will take a dim view of that but on the otherhand that just about sums up there standards

Yeah with a loss like that the WBU will probably elevate him to Super Champion.

The curse of the UK light middles continues...

Shame for Takaloo. He wasn't happy with this fight, and I think let it bother him. Neil Sinclair pulled out of a fight when he was similarly unhappy; Tak went through with it, and got done. But he's still got his spurious WBU title. One loss doesn't end a career.

Surprised to hear he got knocked down too, Tak doesn't go over very easily. The recent disaster in Iran must have affected him too.

RW KO 1 Powers sounds good to me ! ..

Be honest - Tak is just strong and has little in the way of skills..

Monteiro is very crude ( apparently ) and he looks very strong - he looked a lot stronger than Tak in the brief clip I saw..

How anyone ever rated Tak No 1 in britain is beyond me.

Hope he comes back - Jamie Moore anyone ?....

The guy Richard Williams is fighting has never been stopped before, so KO1 would be very good indeed.
As for Takaloo, he is a very good fighter. He was the first man to expose Anthony Farnell, and did it the hard way, too, in front of a packed pro-Farnell crowd in Manchester.
He also went 12 tough rounds with Daniel Santos, flooring the classy Puerto Rican. Don't write the guy off on a points defeat. I didn't hear anyone writing Gilbert Eastman off after he lost to Monteiro last time out. Eastman bounces back in a fight with Delroy Mellis shortly. Takaloo can also bounce back.

Tak exposed Farnell ( who lost to Greenburg and Elcock and struggled with many Welterweights ! )..

Eastman - is more skill and good punch.

Tak is very crude..IMO.

I hope he comes back but all this DLH stuff does not help him..

Check out Franky warrens website - Tak calims he was ill..

Is this another AAA ?..

All the ‘hopes’ in the Light Middle division over the past few years have been exposed or found their level in one way or another, without too many of them facing each other.

Takaloo still up with the best in this country though. Maybe we’ll get some more box-off now between Williams, Tak, Samuels, Moore etc….. and bring in some of the up and comers.

Tak was the FIRST man to expose Farnell, who was 26-0 when he got done by Tak. Groenewald (Greenburg?) and Elcock came later (and at middleweight), when everyone knew he was fairly limited, thanks to Tak.

Don't forget - Farnell struggked several times befire Tak beat him.

Notably against Sergio Acuna - Farnell won UD 12 but what a struggle at times against a welterweight who lost in his next fight in the 1st round against Steve Roberts !..

Farnell was overprotected all along..

My argument remains, Tak licked an unbeaten Farnell in Manchester, and only then did we know Farnell was overprotected, a bit like after Arthur lost to Gomez. To deny that of Tak is wrong.
And anyone can pull out comparitive results to defend their argument. Farnell kayoed Scott Dixon. Seven months later Dixon kayoed Jamie Moore. But would Farnell beat Jamie Moore? Of course not. Styles make fights.

Yeah i don't agree with the old "He beat him so he would beat him" argument, these results can only form as comparisons and not cast iron. As Bennie says, styles make fights and then there are plenty of other factors that come into play on the night. However Takaloo's loss is just another nail in the coffin for British Light Middle's IMO, he got put over as well on the short clip we saw but looked a little pissed off at the end of the fight, was he unhappy about the outcome or was it all fair?

Tak had a bad day at the office. All you ponces saying he's shit are talking bollocks.Look how he turned a near failing career around.WBU may not be the best title around but money does'nt discriminate,He'll fight anyone given the chance. He gave Santos a hard fight and decked him.Write him off at your peril,he's the best in Britain 6 nights out of 7.This loss will not harm him.

Tak had been unwell before the fight, shouldn't have gone throught with it, even at 80% thought he'd beat this guy and just came up short and although he got better as the week was going on, when it was time to glove up and the adrenalin got going, he realised he was in for a tough night.

He looked unwell after the fight and I know when he's not right, he looked pale and off colour and he'd just finished a course of antibiotics on the Friday and he sounded rough when I spoke to him the Monday before the fight.

He has had a viral infection and should have pulled out. He just learned the hard way. I think Jimmy Mac had a bit too much confidence in Tak's ability and Tak didn't say no the fight as he didn't want to let anyone down and he just didn't have any strength on the night. He said it took all he could muster to get in close and try and throw a flurry of punches. Said he felt like absolute shit from warming up to the eighth round.

He needs to get well, then get Montero back in a 12-rounder for the WBU belt. If he loses to Montero fighting at full fitness, he then has no excuses and I'm sure deep down he knows that too.

I think it's a case of, until they have a rematch, Tak needs to be given the benefit of the doubt, and well done to Montero, who came to fight and gave his all.

Tak will be back.

I was expecting excuses from SN but as I know you know him mate, i fully believe you and wish him all the best!!

Im sure if he gets back in training and goes back at Montero he will murder him.

Taks an exciting fighter and I look forward to seeing him back on form.

Cheers Hardhitters.

If Tak had been on form but just got caught, not recovered and beaten purely by a better fighter I would say so.

He was not right on Saturday and everyone who came up to him was asking him what was wrong. 'That's the worst I've seen you'; 'that wasn't you in there tonight'; and 'you looked ill' was the general consensus of opinion of people who spoke to him after the fight.

I really feel for Murdoch, because he works very hard and just made a mistake by fighting when not at 100%. He'll be back though.

These things happen mate!

Its unfortunate but not something he cant come back from,He just needs to knuckle down and get back in the gym.

Im sure he doesnt need me to tell him that.

If you speak to him wish him all the best mate and tell him the majority of us are right behind him.

Cheers
