Sprott and Williams: The future.

Now the dust has settled on Sprott vs Williams 3 I would be intrested to know what are peoples opinions on what the future lies for these to domestic level heavies.

Will it be Sprott vs Williams 4, or will one (probably Sprott) face Skelton first of all.

Another possibility is Samil Sam (for both guys). Sam is fighting a dangerous opponent next (whose name escapes me). Should Samil lose, which I think he might now that he's been exposed, that could leave the door open for maybe Williams. As Samil will probably want a "sure fire" win, to boost his own flagging career (at the higher level). Perhaps Williams can have a shot, ala Francis' recent underserving one.

I missed the fight itself, what did FW say on the situation. He surely has options on Sprott now, is Sprott taking Williams's place for this promised WBO title shot - or is that whole thing over with.

Sam is defending against that Luan Krasniq who IMO doesn't pose much of a threat.

Not sure where Williams goes from here, you can bet he's feeling lower than ever right now.

So much for super-conditioner Jimmy Mac bringing Williams in at 17st eh Stu?

He may have blown it on Sat night but I don't think we've seen the last of Williams.
He could well pull off a few shocks before he's through. The hands down style was a bad mistake, but the guy still showed a lot of skill in there, at times.
Big punch and a big heart: if any of the other UK prospects think he might be a good stepping stone now, they could be in for a major shock.

The thing is Danny didn't actually look overweight, just huge, I don't know where he puts all of that weight...

Yeah it's weird really, when I shook hands with Williams once had I not know him I'd have guessed him to be 16st maximum. He's a heck of a heavy lump, must be in his legs.

Danny has got big legs, a bit too big for a boxer. As for his conditioning even though he didn't look over-weight. He was, cause clearly he's faught at a significantly lower weight than he did on Saturday, and he was impressive.

I think the fact Sam beat him and hurt him very badly (for the first time in his pro career) got him thinking that his chin might not be strong enough so he must bulk up.

I would recommend him view his impressive display against Long and get to that weight. Tut Tut.

Danny has huge legs and a wide waist...
He certainly carried 19 stone well and no doubts about his stamina at that weight and he was pretty sharp too. just couldnt put it all together.
Hard to believe he fought at 14st 4 as an amateur

I got the impression around about round 5 (when Danny was really playing silly buggers) that he was feeling so bloody relaxed and confident for once he just couldn't help but piss about in there.

The problem was that Sprott hadn't been made to work hard at all over the first 6 rounds even though he lost them clearly. Williams should have been the fresher at that point but he wasn't and paid the price down the stretch.

I don't know much about the Krasniq guy, I heard he was okay and this was a 50:50 fight. Emmanuel Steward (who does say some bollocks) did mention Krasniq as Lewis' best sparring partner, better than Jameel McCline.

Perhaps it was just Emmanuel talking trash again. Having said that his record is quite impressive. Perhaps the loser of Sam vs Krasniq is an avenue for Williams or Sprott.

I m afraid I don't think either Sprott or Williams have much of a future... Sprott seemed still shell-shocked from his last fight with Danny... a ko like that often takes a lot out of a fighter... and Danny really looks like he doesn't want it anymore and has never got over the Sam defeat.... of the two Sprott now he has the title can pull himself together and do something but he's not world class and I think he will be found out even at good Europeon level....

How can Danny say the things he said prior to the fight and then say the things he said reported on the BBC boxing website.

All this, "I'll show him" etc. Then openly admit that Sprott wanted it more than him, he wasn't motivated, walk in the park etc.

Get out now Danny, this is from a one-time big fan of yours. Your hearts not in it, retire before you do some damage to yourself.
