Ashley Theophane fights tonight...

He's fighting on the Delvin Rodriguez - Troy Browning undercard on ESPN friday fight night. This boy gets around doesnt he? He looks to have a tough assignment too - a Ali Oubali who is apparently 20-3 (17kos). Hope Ashley can do the business - he looked promoising against Bosworth last time I saw him.

good post. nice to see someone keeping tabs on all the british fighters, no matter where they are fighting in the world. It looks like a tough assignment, but i think that he will pull it off. His fitness is exceptional.

should be on fight of the week over here, not sure if it's this week or next week. I know there is one on this monday night/tuesday morning at 3.40am

Surprised to see BN so confident of a Theophane win. His opponent has good form going the 12 with Sinitsin and 10 with Mosquera i see this as a hard night and a 50/50 affair.

EDIT: So it proved...Theophane dropped a decision despite dropping Oubaali in the 6th!

The Frenchman kept up the pressure throughout, and really worked the body. Ashley did well when he kept it at a distance. Just a shame he doesn't have any real pop in his punches. He showed a alot of heart in the fight. His corner wanted to stop it after the 8th I believe.

Going by a couple of ringside reports it could have gone either way, so a good learning defeat for Ashley, better than knocking over a nobody in a round.
