Stick Witter in with him...

Post by bennie »

Omar Weis is out of his February 7 showdown with Sharmba Mitchell for the IBF interim light-welterweight title. He's too heavy to get down in time (apparently he weighs 153lbs). The search is on for a replacement. Come on Frankie. Stick Witter in there. He's training for a forthcoming European title shot and was in shape anyway because he pulled out of the proposed Kelson Pinto fight in December just a week before the fight (hand injury). I know you won't risk Hatton. Risk Witter. It's a high-profile opportunity that would have been grabbed years ago.

Or Eamomn. Witter vs Mitchell would be a horrible fight to watch.

Wow. Golden opportunity for Hitter.

Mitchell has little power but good movement and handspeed. Witter's style could present definite problems.
Lets see Witter put himself inline for big money fights...

I doubt if either Hatton or Witter could beat Mitchell right now but this would be a good chance for Witter and loss wouldnt be the end of the world for him.

Good chance for him here.

Yes and unfortunately it's Showtime as well, who break out in a rash at the thought of putting on another Witter fight.

It won't happen.
Witter is totally focused on his European challenge.

As Kieran stated, it won't happen.
Mitchell faces Australian fireball Lovemore N'dou on February 7 at Bally's in Atlantic City.
