Boxing Academics

Post by steve689 »

I was recently doing some research into academics within Boxing or not even academics as such but Boxer's doing degrees both current and past or looking to progress through the higher education system. Nathan Clevery i believe is doing pure Maths at Cardiff Uni and Martin Lindsay studied at the Ulster University. Juan Diaz i think is doing criminal law in Texas and Matthew Macklin if i am correct was a year or so into a degree.

Anybody know of any other additions to this auspicious field? Thanks for any responses.

They always waffle about MAB being a law student.

And of course Aled Jones, sorry I mean Nicky Piper, is a member of mensa.

Macklin was barely past freshers week at Cov in a law degree when Warren made him an offer to turn pro if my memory serves me.

Gene TUnney may not have had an academic degree but was one of the most cerebral champs. His son was a senator I believe.

I have a degree in history and politics from Swansea University, went pro in my second year, paid for my studies.

It was a proper degree too, not from one of these dodgy polytechnics where you only need NVQ's to get in

Well done mate.

Don't mean too be facetious - but are you still 'too cute' after 42 losses?
