They had one in the US in the past that Mo Harris won. They were exhibition bouts that didn't go on fighters records. The same will happen with this I am sure.

I think its a good idea, I dont why it cant count towards records. Even matches are good plus the winner will come out with good reward

Positives all round, then! The key thing is- competative matchups and meaningful wins.

As for undefeated fighters with less than 10 fights, David Dolan , Chris Burton maybe (he has had 10 fights exactly, one just recently) have been mentioned.

My apologies if I come across as a bit of a curmudgeon. I'm happy for all of those involved and I'm glad if people make a payday.

It's just that I'd like to see a proper tournament with normal schedule fights where all the main heavyweights in the country fight one another over a period of a month.

good luck billy, i just cant help thinking that if this is against the boards principles and wishes then it will not be sanctioned by them, then it becomes an un-licenced competition, then there must surely be insurance issues, and will the board then make a stance against the fighters who take part.

sort of a mini kerry packer thing i guess.

Well, its promoted by matchroom, and mentioned without criticism in Boxing News. Its also on SKY. I'm sure that if the Baord felt the need to raise objections they would have done so already.

Although, that said, I could simply be wrong.

Is there any news on whether this will be televised? It would be good exposure for all the boxers involved and im sure a few of them would gain a few new fans who otherwise wouldn't be bothered unless they were fighting for a British title.

I'm an old-fashioned fan, don't like gimmicks type of fan.

But I actually quite like this idea, because there are a few 4 round fighters there anyway and they all have a chance to make a name for themselves.

I fancy Dolan over the short distances but the old pro Kenna shouldn't be discoounted. He'll, presumably, pace himself better.

Hopefully Alex Ibbs will do ok, although he will have it tough judging by the competition, lets hope he shows up ok, because were starved of young professional boxers around stafford and stoke!

will let you all know about tickets as soon as i get em yeah would be good if it turned out a pompey v saints final just hope it ended how it did last time the teams met 4-1 wasnt it

and dirk yeah i wouldnt mind rogan i dont think it will suit him there will be easier draws but there will also be worse

How would you feel having to box Colin? You two have obviously got a bond and are good mates, could you put that aside?

i fancy colin kenna for this, he is never in great shape for longer fights but can go hell for leather in this and throw bombs, like he did against llwellwyn.

Hopefully working with Pele Reid will have brought him on, but he looked very raw the first couple of fights I saw him in. He could be out of his depth against the more experienced guys here IMO.
