Former WBC super-featherweight champion Rolando Navarette is being hunted by Manila Police after partner Elizabeth Tambon was hit on the head with a hammer on Tuesday night (yesterday).
Tambon was rushed to a nearby hospital while a relative of hers reported the matter to the police.
Navarette owns a boarding house where its occupants are all males. It was not clear whether any of the boarders was involved with Tambon (the attack has been linked to a fit of jealousy).
But Navarette has been linked to brawling incidents in the past in the city, and has survived two stabbings. He was banned from a local fish market just last week for demanding fish cheaper than priced.
