Don't hold your breath on Audley

Post by bennie »

Maxboxing British correspondent, James McDonnell, has just contacted Audley Harrison's agent and discovered that, after the press conference tomorrow, Audley jets straight out to Las Vegas.
So his next fight looks like being in the States for some crappy intercontinental title or something.

If that turns out to be the case I - and I know I'll probably be in the minority - think it's a good thing. I don't mean going for an Inter-Galatical Bauble, I mean going back to America. Unless he fought Herbie, Danny, Sprott, Long or Skelton he'd be just be treading water here.

Yeah, Warren wont let any of his guys fight Audley unless he gets options.

agreed, and it is also where his trainers are based too....so makes sense for him to continue to campaign out there. What are the alternatives, going for the Southern Arean title against Colin Kenna?

If Harrison continues in the states with a higher level of sparring then when and if he comes back he here will clean out our domestic Heavies without any problems,he is a clever guy who is doing the best thing for his career.

No matter how much we would like to see him in the big fights here FW has shut him out on purpose and Audley is doing the best thing and going out where his trainers and the best sparring is.

Also he is getting himself noticed and putting his profile up in the US.

obviously i'd like to c big aud in with the domestic guys but on the other hand i'm half hoping he stays in the states and and tries to make it.

at 32 he hasn't really got time to go thru the domestic scene he should stay where he is and just give it a try if it doesn't work out then he can comeback and take on out guys.
