I dont think Thaxton will be worried about his mortgage after recieving a big insurance payout after getting injured in a road accident.It seems he is doing much better under the Hennessy promotional banner than SN.

Rumour has it KHAN will be leaving SN when his contract runs out and Hennessy seems to have his foot in the door with ITV.Maybe you should be worrying about paying your mortgage off BC lol.

Anyone on here with any kind of boxing Knowledge can see Khan is another Audley Harrison waiting to happen, comparisons to Hamed are ridiculous.They are only similar by the way that their families are involved which will be Khans downfall.

Khan is a very very poor Hatton at best.Sells tickets,fights bums cons the public.

I think its far too early to say that. Lets hope that his career moves forward, though. The ARE some tough opponents out there, after all.

We thought it might finally be a dodgy one v Yuri Romanov but no.

We hoped he may actually honour his mandatory with Thaxton but no.

It is yet another soft punching non-entity dressed as an eliminator (this is what you all get for giving credence to the WBO) in his backyard.

well said. this is pure SN bilge. anything to dodge the real questions.

what pisses me off is that Lee Meager has been made Thaxton;s mandatory. Why? Meager drew his last fight in America, whereas John Murray won his. IMO Murray's win over Hickman was better than Meager's win over that guy on the Witter-Harris undercard. Meager was soundly beaten by Thaxton.

So being the British Champion is worthless? That's the problem with boxing and boxing fans now a days.

How often do we get to see an interesting domestic fight for the British title? Not very often. It used to be an honor to call yourself British Champion. Maybe this is why boxing isn't as popular as it once was.

I've clearly missed who's he's "giving it a ago" against. His best opponent to date is a none punching featherweight.

Fighting a guy like Thaxton would be genuine preperation for tough fights ahead-- he gave Ricky Hatton a real torrid night. Steering around him repeatedly to fight small feather-fisted guys is not genuine preperation for tough fights ahead.

Amirs team have clearly got a lot less confidence in your hero than you do matey.

Amir Kahn will face Martin Kristjansen in an eliminator for the WBO lightweight title on April 5th in his hometown of Bolton.

Also in the sport pages of my local paper today this was printed

TIMING IS WRONG FOR HATTON VS KAHN

Amir Kahn would welcome a domestic showdown with Ricky Hatton-but doubts it will ever happen. Promoter F.Warren has stated that Kahn will fight for the version of the world title sometime this year. After campaigning at lightweight for a further 12 months, Kahn intends to step up a division and has already talked about facing Hatton. But the olympic silver medallist believes Hatton will of hung up his gloves by the time he is ready for the fight. Kahn went on to say "I respect Ricky for everything he has done for boxing and he inspires me. He's a good and respected fighter, but i dont think he will be around in 18 months time, he will be retired im sure of it".

IS there any truth that Khan will be leaving SN after the next fight?

If so I expect FW to teach him a lesson and get him a tough fight..........

You're dead right south paw. To draw a paralel, it's the same disease that happens in Football. Everyone wants and demands instant success.

What people fail to appreciate is that Amir is a work in progress. He's got good attributes and has made a promising start to his career - so support him for it. He's 21, he's British and good for the popularity of the sport.

Why people have to continually bang on about his glass chin, his dodging of opponents and be so cynical I don't know. They're probably the same people who boo Lampard for England and thought it was a good idea for Newcastle to sack Big Sam.

I don't want to see him in with someone who will essentially beat him but some 60-40 fights as opposed to 80-20 and 90-10 would be an improvement right now. At the end of the day they're the ones name dropping these dangerous guys and then fighting powder puffs. If they kept quiet and moved him along without all the hype and bollocks that they come out with then we'd be a lot more tolerant.
