Our Audley VS Richel Hersisa

I have not seen the undefeated Richel fight (WBF HW champ), but judging from his record he can punch abit and he weighed in at 16 stone 12 for his last fight, so he is a fairly decent size. His opposition hasn't been great up to yet.

On paper he looks a decent live opponent, but it is difficult to comment too much without seeing him fight. I remember after the Nix fight was announced we were all saying this fight is a slight step up and Nix should take Audley some rounds, but when they got in the ring the gulf in class between Audley and Nix was massive

Whilst the contest may prove worthwhile, the fact Audley is putting his name to the WBF is a major disappointment to me.

Couldn't he wangle it so it could be for the European Union title instead (if it's vacant) ? That would be a fair reflection on the contest taking place and the EU titles are over 10 rounds. Unlikely that the Dutch fellow will take Audley too many palces he has not been before, but those championship rounds have proved too much for some contenders who are not ready for them. Unlikely, but worth a mention.

I know things have taken a bad shape for Audley recently thanks to allegedly, and Harrison has to re-plan his route, but the WBF ?.... I'm unhappy about it!

Forget the title, the opponent is credible I think. He's young enough and hungry enough to provide a test, and is a step up from Nix.

I am not bothered about the WBF belt.

I never thought Audley was the sort of guy who'd go for a 'crap strap', he always struck me as the kind of man who likes to do things properly.

Nevertheless, if this is his opponent, you've got to says he's unbeaten and has knocked quite few people out, I'd just prefered to have seen him before that's all. I can't really judge him.

Maybe he's been on eurosport or ZDF and McCoy or Real Deal have watched him, they've usually seen these eurofighters in action.

Is this what he meant when he said he'd be world champion?

At the very least I hope the mush is durable, that way we can see how Harrisson can deal with a 12 rounder. I can see the headlines:

Opponent good .... Title = crap, James we can try and forget about the title - but will Audley want us to should he win. Remember this was his big press-conference where he stressed he was fighting for a title. I wonder, if he'll be hailing himself a world champion.

He might retire after this, after all he's technically set out what he said he was going to achieve.

Yes, that is Dutch's opinion of the opponent, not Audley Harrison.

Perhaps he's not such a step up after all - Dutch usually is very accurate.

I can't forget about the title. These type of sanctioning bodies cloud the
occasion like a bad smell.

Audley could perform wonders against this guy but i reckon he'll be getting stick from all corners becuase of the title.

PLEASE AUDLEY, if you're desperate for a title, try and get the EU title instead of the WBF.

hahah. I remember when Dutch Windmill's screen name used to be 'Richel Hersisia' and I thought it was actually the fighter. I then started a thread entitled 'To Richel Hersisia' asking him to fight Audley. 'Richel' replied to announce that Hersisia wasn't really ready to fight him. I was mildly confused.

anyway, its a step in the right direction for audley, its his first opponent rated by boxrec inside the top 100 at the time that he's fought them (top 50 in fact) although I suspect the contest won't last very long.

i really don't think Audley is dumb enough to think he can con everyone into believing he has won the world title. Trust me, he won't be making the title out to be important.

I saw his fight with Wojciech Bartnik on Eurosport. his opponent was a cruiserweight and he didnt impress. he was lucky to get the decision.
His only hope is that it goes late as he has done 12 before and Audley hasnt.
Having said that I cannot see him going past 6 against Audley.
He is too slow and short to get close to Audleys chin and a look at his record suggest he doesnt have much of a dig going 12 rounds without stopping Sami Elovaara, who got stopped by out friend Mendauga Kulikauskas. The Lithunanian who drew with Scott Gammer and got stopped by Greenburg and Danny Watts and Danny Watts

Elovaara lost that fight on cuts. I agree that the power of my countryman is not as good as his record suggests

Yep, he's, 6'2, more fat than muscle I would say. Audley will have the physical advantages he had in every fight so far
