McDonagh v Lauri

How will this one go? Will it be an upset if McDonagh wins? He went over to Ireland and beat Gomez and nobody gave him a chance. Been long over due for Mcdonagh to get his career moving, thought the Gomez fight would have got him of the starting blocks, will this fight? I feel he's better than what people give him credit for, he's pushed many a good man close if not beat them in everyones eyes but the judges, like David Burke. He fears nothing and its about time he gets given a break...... GO ON MCDONAGH!!!!!!

Agree with that - stoppage of very wide decision. McDonagh was just a standard journeyman before the extremely iffy Gomez fight, and has only been beating the perennial losers of the undercard circuit since.

thats because he was in the 'no one needs him club', and took what fight he could I believe, why a stoppage? McDonagh hasnt been stopped before. He's with Paul Cook now, in a successful stable and that must have a big difference on his mental attitude now. Most of McDonaghs loses have been 'iffy' aswell havent they?

Yes he did but at super featherweight, McDonagh clearly isn't a super feather weight is he

I wouldn't say he's a bigger step up than David Burke.

I wouldn't say he's a bigger step up than David Burke.

OK, forgot about him. But anyway, Burke was about potential more than achievement, and besides, that was only an eight-rounder.

i hope mcdonah does it he deserves abit of luck but at least he's prepared to fight anyone unlike that bottle job khan

I'm unsure of this one McDonagh has progressed alot in recent months, 18mnths ago i'd have said Lauri take sit but I'm unsure now, I tihnk McDonagh is in with a fair chance if he sticks to his boxing and keeps a decent gaurd up.

I hope he does get it as it has been said already he deserves a break.

It could be interesting. Lauri is doesn't pose much power - so if McDonagh is prepared - he could out work him.

Lauri is the favourite regardless, but venue is a huge factor.

while training for this fight McDonagh has stayed away from his partner and little girl to sleep on my living room floor, he's got so much hunger and I have to say I've never seen someone so focused as he is now. He's living the life, never seen him this fit and mentaly ready before. Im for sure going to put a bet on a McDonagh win, it looks an upset but it wont be an upset to me. I fully expect him to win
