WBF Champions?

I realise that this is one of the worst belts out there but who are the other champions in the other divisions? I just want to get an idea of how bad the WBF is. So far I can't get any WBF site or list of WBF champs so who are they?

Well if Michael Brodie and Robin Reid hold WBF belts in their weight divisions then its good enough for Aud at this stage of his career.

The belt is a shame, but Audley had nowhere else to go after allegedly basically froze him out of the British title scene.
And at least he's fighting somebody decent for once.

Loftgroov forget about the title and think about the opponent, Audley is stepping up in class holding the WBF belt doesnt prevent him from fighting better opposition once it will do the opposite in my opinion. If they do start putting warm bodies like Rob Calloway in front of him then Im sure hell vacate the belt.

WBF is still a 'World Belt'

And Audley did say he would become a 'World Champion'

Not sure thats what he meant and he actually said, 'I will be World champ' not I will win a world belt. Im sure he knows the type of belt he is winning and wont say afterwards 'I told you Id become World champ by 2005 and Iv done it before then.' This is simply a spring board, Im sure he will challenge one day for a WBC, IBF, WBA or one of the other top belts, but I would like to see him fight Hide and Samil Sam this year.

My question about the WBF is -- how often do these guys have to defend the title? I mean, when was the last time Brodie or Reid defended their belts? Why weren't those titles (as well as Brodie's IBO strap) on the line in the Chi or Ottke fights (respectively)? And how long has that Keaton guy been champ at cruiserweight without a defense?

I'm not big on stripping guys for no reason (for instance, the WBU stripping Takaloo for losing a NON-title fight), but at some point there should be a defense of the belt.

John Keeton is not the WBF Cruiser Champ.
Now we get to the messy part.
The WBF were sued by the previous WBF Champ, who successfully brought an action against them for stripping him unfairly.
The WBF had to hand him his title back, and pay significant compensation.
I understand the existing WBF went bust as a result, but immediately relaunched itself.
I recall a guy called Jonathan Feld being actively involved, and that many shows were organised through Joe Pyle Promotions.
Let me stress, I am no expert, so please excuse me if the specifics may be slightly innacurate but I am 100% certain the gist of this is right, because Buster is my relative.
Perhaps some of our more knowledgeable posters actively involved in boxing can comment.

Why not read the rules for the WBF and find out. they are on-line.

It is explicitly and unequivocally ascertained that the successful Contestant of the Championship agrees to and adheres to the WBF Rule that they must defend the said title within the said weight class within a twelve month period of winning the title or the WBF reserves the right to declare the title vacant

Based on that, why aren't there more champions?

Also, I found it somewhat interesting that Cosme Rivera decided to simply drop the title he won against Hare.

Does anyone take this body seriously? Joke organisation, joke 'world' champions, joke belt. Hersisia is a good opponent for Audley but he doesnt need the title, his gold medal is worth far more.

PS....look on the web for World Boxing Foundation (they have a new name!) to find their web site.

i always thought it was the world boxing federation

its another tin pot title.

it all depends on the fighter really. i mean sven ottke is the wba and ibf champion, but for me he's a fraud who won't step up to the plate and fight calzaghe.

There used to be a World Boxing Federation, but I believe it disbanded due to financial reasons.

Did anyone notice a NBA belt.

I guess you have to have competed in both sports to go for the belt or maybe its used to settle player disputes.
